Not that I'm saying Hillis will stay or go but if you're looking at the high powered "pass first" offenses (NE & GB), which seems to be the way Cleveland wants to go, they don't really have a "feature back" and the backs they do have certainly aren't power backs like Hillis.lhslep134;924672 wrote:If you guys think about it, it makes perfect sense. Hillis broke out last year in an offense conducive for him to do so. Pat Shurmer's offense? Not so much. Hardesty is much more of a fit for the offense than Hillis, as evidenced by the extensive amount of touches Hardesty is getting. If we really wanted to keep Hillis, we would have extended him by now because we have a lot of money to do so. It's not that Hillis isn't a good player, but he's just not a fit for Shurmer's offense, and it appears if one of them has to give, it's Hillis.
Hardesty DOES have more upside but will he stay healthy? Truth be told, Hardesty & Armond Smith are better fits for this offense. There's a reason they went out and got Brandon Jackson in the offseason....different style of back.

This might be somewhat true, but the fact of the matter is RBs are dime a dozen in this league. They go as far their line takes them. I think (hopefully) Heckert and Holmgren are smart enough to know this and will not overpay for a rb. AP is the only back I would be willing to pay big money to sign an extension tbh.

Your logic here is flawed. Just because the offense isn't as run heavy as last season doesn't mean that its not suited for him and suited for Hardesty. Also not sure if you watched Hurtesy on Sunday but he dropped 5 passes. Hillis might have the best hands on the team and his skill set definitely fits in the WCO.lhslep134;924672 wrote:If you guys think about it, it makes perfect sense. Also according to Pluto, the team has offered Hillis more than one contract extension and he has declined them looking for more guaranteed years. I dont think Holmgren/Heckert would say "we're trying like crazy" to get a deal done if they didn't want to extend him.

Not saying he WILL be traded, just giving reasons as to why he would be.

"If Hardesty maintains his health, and keeps getting better, the Browns' leverage goes up. They're trying to incorporate Hardesty because he's got a higher ceiling and is the perfect back for this system. Hillis will probably never have the value to this team that he did last year, they're not going to ground and pound any more"
Pretty much what I said. Guess my logic is flawed though...

From an article? You didn't even click the link, because it was a video.Commander of Awesome;924824 wrote:I disagree with the writer in that article. Typical smugness from a short fat kid though
Nice try ginger crybaby
Edit: Also, what is your obsession with me? First you call me fat, then tell me you want to see pictures, then I prove you wrong. Then you get on my facebook, and post a picture of me from 2 years ago? And now you bring it up out of nowhere because I linked a video backing my statement that goes against what you said and that's the best you got? Your s** is weak, dude. Come up with a legitimate response instead of being an immature little child. Ginger crybaby is such a fitting name for you.

No I didnt ask for pictures dipshit. Nice fail frodo. You posted a link to the Plain Dealer which seems to write more Sci fi and their staff of sports journalist are a joke. Mary Kay and Tony Grossi are a complete waste. Like I said I think Hillis is a great RB and a better one than Hardesty. When the GM/President say they want to extend him I'll take their word thanks. You can try to agree with a sensationalist "journalist" all you want, but over on the OBR the insiders say that story is garbage, Hillis says he wants to retire a Brown etc... Yeah I'll stick to the horse's mouth, what my instinct from on field observation and common fucking sense says. No go back to trying to get the ring out of the parrots mouth Frodo.

If the Browns are gonna trade him, they'd better get HOF quality, like Troy Smith, in return....

Look, I want Hillis on the team, having a pure brute never hurts in the red zone, but not for top 10 money, which is probably what his agent will want.

Sounds like a lot of speculation on your part. I know the Browns have offered him in 2 contracts, both of which he declined due to the guaranteed $ in the deal. He wants his contract guaranteed for length of the contract (we dont know the length, least I havent seen that reported yet) where the Browns so far haven't been willing to do that. They're willing to do guaranteed money but not he length of the contract as well.lhslep134;924975 wrote:Look, I want Hillis on the team, having a pure brute never hurts in the red zone, but not for top 10 money, which is probably what his agent will want.

thank you josh cribbs. Hillis needs to be extended, I'll be pissed if he leaves. He loves the city and the fans, and is a great running back with great hands. I have found that you essentially take the views of the majority of browns fans, and you go with the opposite of that.
