Do they take Andrew Luck?

Ironically, Peyton Manning became a mentor for Luck as Luck was making his decision this past season.

Would the Colts take Luck? If so, would they look to make a deal involving Luck or Manning right away, or would they allow Luck to sit behind Manning for a year or so?

If the last scenario, how long do they let Luck sit behind Manning before trading Manning?

No brainer. You take Luck. No guarantee Manning will rebound from this. If he does you could have Aaron Rodgers Part Deux.

Kind of my thinking, plus Manning isn't getting any younger.

They HAVE to take Luck. Any team in that position does.

I would argue, if they can't trade it away, yes.

Yeah Carolina or even St Louis if they can't trade it away would probably take Luck.

Gotta be Luck. Im praying for this to happen (avatar and sig).

Im so brainwashed from Cleveland sports though that I think the Colts brass would fuck it up, trade the pick. Would be better for 2 years, then it will backfire.

This will be one of the rare years where people will be wanting to trade up to #1. Not only because of Luck, but because the new CBA is more favorable for the owners.

Manning is 35 and 14 years in. Question is how many years does he have left.

Draft Luck, you don't have to pay him insane money, even if he has to sit 2 years you have the talented young guy learning from the GOAT (or one of).

In the Colts case, yes, you absolutely take Luck.

As great as I think Luck will be, I think some people are over rating him a little here. St. Louis and Carolina(assuming Newton keeps this up) don't take Luck. They have 2 QB's who have proven to be franchise QB's. Luck has more potential than both, but nothing, even Andrew Luck, is ever a sure thing with the NFL draft. You trade the pick, or if it really comes to it, take someone else.

Not to mention 3(?) neck surgeries in the last year. That's hard enough for every day folk to come back from.

Sam Bradford has not come close to proving that yet. He's actually regressed so far this year. And I'm a huge Bradford fan.

Closer to 2 years. But the point remains. Plus the knee surgery he had. While that seems to be forgotten, because he NEVER runs and really doesnt need ligaments at all it seems lol, it is just another case of showing his body breaking down as 40 gets closer than 30.

He's not had a great first 4 games, but had a great rookie year. All with abysmal talent around him. The Rams won't be taking a QB with the #1 pick anytime soon.

I can see it more with Cam, since it will have been his rookie season.

But if the Rams are bad enough to go 1-15, 2-14, etc with that piss poor division/schedule. Who are they fooling by telling anyone Sam Bradford is going to be great? It will be a complete backwards step, and to land the #1 pick after going 7-9 and being the favorite to win the division would be bad. It would mean that more than likely Sam Bradford sucked this year and isnt the answer. It isnt like he is going to be good in this scenario, cause if he is...they wont be picking first.

Considering the offense they surrounded him with, it was incredible that he played well enough for that team to make the playoffs as a rookie. Along with rookie of the year, multiple records for a rookie QB, I'd say yeah, that qualifies as great.

A lot of good QB's have seemed to regress, along with their team, in their 2nd seasons as starters. Drew Brees among them. The problem is generally the talent around them.

St Louis made the playoffs last year?
