Yes, you are right. The solution is for the government to enforce the law. If you commit fraud you go to prison. The way you get government to enforce the law is to keep Wall Street from buying politicians. The way you do that without violating our rights is to stop the government from being able to give out subsidies and tax breaks and handouts to anyone.

No one is going to suggest that's photoshopped? I'm sure a few of those "poor", out-of-work college kids are quite proficient on their Mac's (indirectly provided by the gubmit, of course).

Yeah, I see what you tried to do there, and it doesn't reflect reality. A lot of the Tea Party coverage I saw WAS of the "pry my gun from my cold, dead hands" and the idiots, and anything else they could find to make the "mob" look like racist rednecks.

This. The media/politicians/celebrities have had to fabricate stories just to try and make them look bad.

100% incorrect. Arrests for white-collar crime occur all the time, some being profoundly high profile as well. Get in the game!

The things Tea Party (I'm assuming that's who you're talking about here) protesters want are less government, less spending and a return to the core principles laid out by the Constitution. You are conveniently forgetting WHY the people are gathered -- and that's a huge difference.

Anytime this is talked about the right says it will kill business and the economy and is class warfare/tax hikes/etc.

Another attack on intellectuals I see. Wonderful. Those damned college professors, ruining the country.

I haven't seen anything in the media that was trying to make it a positive story. In fact I'd say they're going out of their way to make it a negative one.

This is an anecdotal meaningless statement. No one from Wall Street who committed the fraud that directly led to housing collapse has been arrested. If you can name even one person who was directly involved with the fraud involving credit default swaps and CDOs then you can begin to have an argument.

Simply saying "well people get arrested for fraud all the time" doesn't mean THESE people have been arrested.

"Well murderers get caught all the time so that means we don't have to go after these people that just committed genocide!"

Oh, then you mean the CEO's of Fannie and Freddie who cooked the books in order to earn egregious personal bonuses. Oh but wait, you can't arrest them --- they're big democrats.

Do I really need to start posting videos of the crazies at various Conservative rallies and protests?

Any gathering like this is certainly going to attract the wackos, that has nothing to do with the merit of the protest/rally as a whole though.

I think you'd find that if they actually cooked the books everyone would want them arrested and charged.

You realize Obama isn't in charge and didn't start the protests right and that these people oppose not just Conservative ideas and policies but things Obama has done as well?

No no. Arrest them.

See you keep shoving democratic propaganda words in my mouth despite the fact that I keep saying that they're all crooked and need to be held accountable. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are the tip of the iceberg. Goldman Sachs, AIG, Standard & Poors, Moody's, Countrywide, Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, need I go on? They are all guilty.

No, those people wouldn't be the crazies would they? I'm talking about the people who can't articulate why they're there, spew Republican talking points without understanding, etc, etc. If those people don't make any Tea Party rally a crazy fest why do the crazies at the OWS thing make everyone else crazy by association?

Can't have it both ways.

There are big government republicans. That said I can understand how it can hurt business short term. Business plans around those subsidies, tax breaks etc.. Sudenly removing them would kill some businesses. I would argue to go ahead let let those businesses die. If they are so finacially unstable that they depend on the government to exist they should go away and be replaced with strong self sustaining businesses.

Knowing corruption and fraud are human flaws. It will be found at any level governance or institutions that humans are a part of. That said you list all these companies. Who in them has committed fraud? What evidence do you have? Or are you just regurgitating ant-corporation propoganda.

Washington is not the disease, it is the symptom.

If we eliminate the cause (Wall Street) somehow, perhaps through more oversight, transparency, regulation while at the same time eliminating or severely crippling the massive amount of influence Wall Street has on Washington we can begin to solve the problem. Just because you and I can't agree on how to solve the problem doesn't mean that we ignore the problem, but many in this thread seem to want to deflect the attention elsewhere, and that comes off as defending Wall Street which is pretty much an indefensible position.
