Jon Jay just made a 22 step catch in CF going into the fence.

Willie Mays catch was 21 strides....no fence....covered maybe a few feet more, but no fence.

I hope. I'm just glad it isn't going to be another Tigers/Cards snoozefest.

If the Rangers and Cardinals play a World Series and nobody watches on TV, was their really a World Series?

Its the world series.

If one is a baseball fan he will tune in.

Just like the Super bowl...no matter the teams, as a guy who likes sports, you will tune in.

Wow, thats horrible, expecially when the StL Cardinals' logo isn't even a Cardinal head, its the whole cardinal on the bat or just the StL letters.

How many pitchers will each team put on their 25 man roster? What are the rules for replacing players on the 25 man? If your regular season 5th starter has to come in 2nd inning of game 4 and throws 100 pitchers, can you replace him on the roster, or maybe is it only if it is another pitcher. Mike and Mike were talking about what the over/under would be on pitching changes for the series.

i dont believe you can do that.

You must be on the roster as of august 31st to be eligible.

Each level of the postseason has its roster that the team turns in. If a guy gets injured he can be replaced, but then that injured guy cannot come back.

Wouldn't it be some gamesmanship if your long relief guy "got hurt" after throwing 80 pitches in game 5?

I dont know how they would determine a pitcher getting injured like that!

After a stunt LaRussa pulled against the Reds i wouldnt put it passed him.

LaRussa goes with 12 pitchers, and one less position player than the Rangers. I think that is a good move for the Cards.

Berkman with an excellent baserunning play to get to 2B with one out on Hamilton on the long fly. He reasoned that that ball would either be caught or be a HR and saw Hamilton drifting back and knew his momentum was going the wrong way and took the key base.

Game now in the hands of both bull-pens in the 6th. I'm feeling a WP by Agando to allow the lead run to score.
