Iowa is BY FAR the worst team in this conference. Everyone else should be competitive in most games they play (maybe not N'western with their injuries).

Indiana, PSU, Minny and Wisky are the next worst imo and they will win their fair share of games and compete. The latter 3 all have very good shots at the NCAA

UofM, and Illinois I think are pretty much locks for the NCAA if they dont completely implode.

Purdue, OSU, and MSU can all win this conference.

I cannot wait for the Big 10 basketball season to start. This year me and my 2 other friends are going to make the trip up this year to Lansing on February 20th for the Ohio State/Michigan State basketball game and I cannot wait for that. That may very well be a battle of two Top 10 teams and the game for the Big10 Title. I love how everyone hates our basketball out here in the Big10 because every game is like 65-60 defensive struggles lol. Go Bucks!!!!!!

I think you may have forgotten about the big east.

The Big East is a whole different animal, with 16 teams. Their likelihood of having great teams is higher than any other conference. Even then, I would put them behind the ACC and Big Ten this year. 'Cuse, Nova, G'town, UConn, WVU, Notre Dame, and Louisville are all solid teams this year, but there are a few pretty bad teams too.

Michigan State is NOT that good. They looked very average tonight against an unranked Gonzaga team that lost their 2 best players from last year. Sorry to say, but I really don't think the Spartans will win the Big Ten this year. I think OSU will step up and get the job done and surprise some folks, although many seem to be giving them due respect this season.

The Spartans definitely struggled tonight, but it's still very early and Gonzaga is no slouch. They got it done in the end. It is looking like the Big Ten may be wide open this year. There are surely a number of teams that could win it.

Gonzaga was unranked but I still am not sure why.

BTW, Bouldin was their best player last year and Gray was emerging as a legit national star and could become one this year.

Demitri Goodson is one heck of a PG as well.

They lost Hytvelt, Pargo, and Daye. But personally I think Bouldin was better than all of them last year and Gray will be better than all of them this year.

^^Laley.....I agree about Bouldin. I guess Pargo and Hytvelt were just the big names that everyone recognized. Watching Gonzaga in this game, I looked at their top 7 and was very impressed. I think this team will find their way into the field of 64 come March and maybe make some noise. Gonzaga is much better than they are credited for, but I just wasn't very impressed by MSU. This is essentially the same team as last year and they struggled greatly in the big ten championship last year against OSU. OSU returned everyone from last year's team and also got David Lighty back. Although OSU didn't make a deep run in the playoffs like MSU did, I just feel that the Buckeyes will have the upper hand this year. I guess we will see if OSU is for real Thursday night when they face the defending national champs.

This is the same story, a different year. So what if the Big Ten beats the ACC in the challenge. For Crise sakes it's bound to happen sometime. What's more amazing is the fact that the Big Ten has NEVER, NOT ONCE, beat the ACC in this so called "challenge". I think its been over a decade since they have been playing this thing.

Michigan State, as usual, will make a tournament run. And thats it, as usual. Ohio State had their team, then the pro's turned pro. When talking college hoops conferences, the conversation starts with the ACC and the Big East. All the rest you can just consolidate.

After last nights game Gonzaga will NOT be unranked.they put M.S. on the ropes from the start of the game. IF and only IF you play like that your not going to be unranked for long.! M.S looked good a the end when it matterd and the BIG-10 looks strong this year. Just hope the ONE and DONE will not hurt...but who am i kidding:(

Well, Penn State doesn't look very good. Losses to UNC-Wilmington and Tulane the last 2 days.

And Indiana loses to Boston U.

I think Penn State, Indiana, and Iowa were pretty much expected to be the bottom 3 teams in the conference (with Northwestern maybe joining them now that Coble is done for the year), but those are still bad losses today.

While its not a good loss at all, it was going to be tough for IU to win any of these games. With only about an hour to prepare for any of these teams and IU being so young games in back to back to back nights were going to wear them down pretty fast. You could see how they played very well vs Ole Miss when they had time to prepare.

Iowa is still by far the worst followed by PSU/IU/Nwestern in any order imo. Indiana probably has the most talent of the 3, but they are so young it will be tough to compete game in game out (as we saw last year).

IU is getting better everyday with the experience. Nobody can deny the fact that they have some talent on the floor. Big Ten play is still over a month away. The Hoosiers will beat some very good teams this year.

Great win for Purdue tonight.

Iowa is shockingly hanging right in with Texas right now. A 1 point game with 27 seconds left in the half? No way they can keep this up in the 2nd half, can they? Possibly the athleticism mismatch of the year.

Iowa got down double digits early and battled back. I don't think they'll have enough to hang the rest of the way, but this is better than I expected from the Hawkeyes.

Texas has pulled away as expected. Need them to keep it up though. Nervous about a little -15 action right now.
