I am willing to bet he became a Titans fan when they made the SB.

Heckert didn't use all of those picks to get Hardesty for nothing.

It's obvious that Hardesty has more of a burst (lightning) to Hillis' power (thunder). Hillis being out may have started the Drew Bledsoe to Tom Brady passing of the torch if MoHard stays healthy.

Lol someone called rizz and said that game showed how valuable Hillis is and helped his contract situation... Lol dumb ass fans

Hillis is the perfect kind of feature back Clevelans needs: Hard runner, deceiving speed, and excellent hands. You need that kind of back in the weather we play here in Cleveland and the AFC North. Hardesty is a good spell back that can help elongate Hillis' career because they can split the carries with each other. I wouldn't expect Hardesty to be the feature back because of his injury history. Use both of them to compliment each other, and make defenses prepare for both.

If Hardesty can stay healthy, he has more potential as a feature back than Hillis, IMO.

Agreed.

Like I said, Heckert didn't use all of those picks on him to let him waste away as a "spell Hillis" type of back. It's not uncommon knowledge that Hardesty would've been their feature back last year had he not been injured. Hillis came out of nowhere and was a complete surprise. Hillis advantage is that he can run people over but he's slower to hit the hole. Hardesty has more burst.

If comparing to other teams, Hardesty would be your Darren McFadden while Hillis would be your Michael Bush. I know it's too early to compare Hardesty to anyone but just using that to give an idea.

Again, this is all contingent on Hardesty staying healthy.

And THIS is why KNR is dying a fast death. Moran callers. 92.3 is SOOOOOO much better. Not only do they get the local perspective but once a week they talk to a beat writer from every team (Rats, Steelers, Bengals) in the AFC North to get their take on the coming weeks opponent.

KNR has been dying a slow death since 2004. Its absolutely unlistenable anymore IMO. The Really Big Show is a pile.

Who is going to be the first reciever this year to have a 100 yard game for the Browns?

Actual Receiver - Josh Cribbs or Mohammed Massaquoi.

Anyone on the Roster - Ben Watson

My guess would be Massaquoi of the wide outs but I concur it will probably be Watson.

BR1986FB;911547 wrote:Gotta vent...after listening to talk radio and looking at message boards I'm kinda pissed. I keep hearing the "Browns fans are the GREATEST fans on the planet." I'm starting to think they are the ****tiest.

ALL I've heard is "yeah, they won but it didn't FEEL like a win", "they won but it wasn't impressive enough" or bitching and moaning about Shurmur's play calling or Shurmur as a head coach, etc. THEY ARE 2-1 PEOPLE !!!! THE LAST TIME THEY STARTED THE SEASON 2-1 WAS 2002.

They have 10 rookies or second year players starting, the team just came off a lockout with minimal time to prepare and Shurmur has coached THREE games as a HC. Hell, listening to Chuck Booms on 92.3 this morning you'd have thought he was pining for Mangini's return (BTW...this team would be 0-3 under Mangini right now, book it). It's like they expect Shurmur to be the reincarnation of Bill Walsh/Chuck Noll/Don Shula ALL rolled up into one.

This team is young and the roster hasn't been completely filled out. There WILL be growing pains with this new offense, especially with the lack of potent receivers.

Enjoy the wins while they're getting them because there may not be a whole lot of them. It would be ONE thing to bitch & moan if they were losing and the the offense was this vanilla but they're NOT, they're WINNING.

End rant
This is my take, for what very little it's worth.

First of all, any fan that doesn't see the win as "good enough" probably isn't a true fan. After the pitiful performance on offense for 57 minutes, they were more than lucky to come out of that game with a win.

You're right, this team is very very young. 10 starters with, at most, 2 years starting in the league? That's mind boggling, but exactly what a franchise needs to be successful for the future (Green Bay anyone?). I've noticed that a lot of fans - on this forum, and radio shows - that aren't happy with Colt McCoy. While I'm not thrilled with McCoy's performance either, it's way - WAY - to early to say he's not the guy the Browns need at QB.

He probably faced one of this worst possible scenarios a rookie has ever faced coming into the league. Mangini did him absolutely ZERO favors with the way he handled him as a rookie. Then, throw in the fact that this off-season was one unlike any other, a new offense, new players, etc. - and you're damn right there's going to be some growing pains. If, after next season, these questions still surround McCoy, then fine - no, he's probably not our answer at QB. But when is the last time a Browns team has gone through the season without a QB controversy? Even after Anderson's Pro-Bowl year, everyone was calling for Quinn to take his job. (Fans seen how great that worked out). You'd think, that after years of failed success, that fans would be happy with a 2 game winning streak, and a 2-1 start to the year, but I truly believe that, no matter what, until this team wins a Super Bowl - fans are going to continue to be picky.

Regarding Hillis', everyone says that he looked like hell the day before the game, and said the same thing on gameday. Sure, you like to see him at least TRY to go, but strep throat sucks ass, so it's hard to fault the guy for skipping the game. And anyway, Shurmur hasn't come out and said that he sent Hillis home, or Hillis wanted to go home. What it did do, however, is show us what MoHard can really do if he has the opportunity. I think, if he can stay healthy, he'll eventually be the feature guy, but will have to spend most of his time splitting carries with Hillis. Why else would they be lobbying for an extension for Hillis? I think they should put Hillis contract talks on hold, at least for now, see how the two backs progress through the season, and analyze the situation after the season is over.

For all of the happiness that's we're seeing from the fan base, being 2-1, I could see us coming back down to Earth and ending up 2-3 (Titans & Raiders..in Oakland) over the next 3 weeks.

Not too worried about Avery.

That pretty much goes without saying when it comes to the Cleveland Browns. Any Cleveland fan that doesn't realize that by now needs to get checked.

At least they aren't as bad as Bengals fans. After the Bengals week 1 fluke win, there were a bunch of "fans" calling in radio shows and saying the Bengals have a shot at the playoffs lol.

The only person on here that has said we have a shot at the playoffs is footwedge, and we all know how serious we should take his predictions.

Edit: Add deydurkie as well. We all know how serious we should take his predictions as well.

Sorry, man. Just not impressed with this offense. The defense has been keeping them in games and hasn't truly faced a potent offense yet. I'm cringing at the thoughts of them playing the Texans.
