Both teams come in at 2-1.

Titans likely have lost Kenny Britt for the season. Mantooth will be swooning over the appearance of Hasselbeck at CBS.

Who takes this?

I have a bad feeling that this will be the game that Chris Johnson looks like Chris Johnson again.

Let's hope Mr. Taylor is able to play. If not, it may be hard getting pressure on the QB and our defense needs the pressure to do its job.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I think our defense will be able to keep us in a lot of games. It's just the matter of our offense helping out our defense.

I believe the Browns D was on the field for 38 minutes today. Just can't have that week in an week out.

Did Hardesty's performance yesterday lessen Hillis' contract negotiations and could we slowly see Hillis morph into the "Tom Rathman" fullback role?

Heckert didn't use all of those picks to get Hardesty for nothing.

It's obvious that Hardesty has more of a burst (lightning) to Hillis' power (thunder). Hillis being out may have started the Drew Bledsoe to Tom Brady passing of the torch if MoHard stays healthy.

I will be at this one too...hope the O can move the ball much better than what they have the last 3 weeks. And I can see the load being shared at RB now if Hillis returns this week. I also think Robo is probably done if he continues to keep his 0 catch streak alive.

Gotta vent...after listening to talk radio and looking at message boards I'm kinda pissed. I keep hearing the "Browns fans are the GREATEST fans on the planet." I'm starting to think they are the shittiest.

ALL I've heard is "yeah, they won but it didn't FEEL like a win", "they won but it wasn't impressive enough" or bitching and moaning about Shurmur's play calling or Shurmur as a head coach, etc. THEY ARE 2-1 PEOPLE !!!! THE LAST TIME THEY STARTED THE SEASON 2-1 WAS 2002.

They have 10 rookies or second year players starting, the team just came off a lockout with minimal time to prepare and Shurmur has coached THREE games as a HC. Hell, listening to Chuck Booms on 92.3 this morning you'd have thought he was pining for Mangini's return (BTW...this team would be 0-3 under Mangini right now, book it). It's like they expect Shurmur to be the reincarnation of Bill Walsh/Chuck Noll/Don Shula ALL rolled up into one.

This team is young and the roster hasn't been completely filled out. There WILL be growing pains with this new offense, especially with the lack of potent receivers.

Enjoy the wins while they're getting them because there may not be a whole lot of them. It would be ONE thing to bitch & moan if they were losing and the the offense was this vanilla but they're NOT, they're WINNING.

End rant

My fellow Buckeye fans would tell you that a coaches worth can be determined after 3 games, no matter the circumstances.

Maybe not his worth, but his judgment can certainly be evaluated. In this case, Fickell flunks.

On topic: I gave up listening to sports radio shows a while ago when it became obvious that the announcers play the audience to get calls and other comments. It's all about ratings.

Yeah, there's more than a few fans in any group that simply doesn't have the knowledge to put a cogent thought together, but by and large I doubt you'll find too many Browns fans unhappy with where this team is at right now.

It's good to remind ourselves that this group, both offensively and defensively, are working in brand new systems and didn't have the usual amount of prep time to learn them. Both units should only get better as the year goes along, if only because they'll be more familiar with what they're supposed to do.

Oh and as for this game: I won't be surprised if the offense struggles again because the Titans defense is typically pretty good, is it not?

These are my thoughts exactly. No game is a "gimme" for the Browns but some of these less than stellar opponents at the beginning of the season might allow them to stockpile a few wins and prep themselves for when they hit the real "meat" of the schedule at season's end.

Maybe it was good that Hillis didn't play. We still got the win, and now we have Hillis back with fresh legs.

#3 in team defense right now. Giving up 89 ypg against the run and 172 ypg against the pass. And only 14 points per game so this offense WILL be tested.

BTW...is it just me or does McCoy seem a bit more effective when there's a sense of urgency? Might not be a bad idea to come out in a 2:00 offense?

Hopefully after Hardesty's performance they unveil the Pony this week.

I hope Shurmur wasn't blowing smoke up everyone's asses when he said that Big Phil is fine.

I'd really, really, really, like to go one damn season without half the team ending up on IR, so when we face that juggernaut schedule to close the season we've got enough bullets left in the rifle to have a fighting chance.
