Missou would be a great addition to the SEC

I agree. Outside of poaching an ACC school in a non-SEC southern state (basically VT, UNC, UVa), you can't do much better than Missouri. Gets the conference into the St Louis and KC markets. Outside of ND, they are my top add for the B1G.

The Southeastern Conference and the University of Missouri have informally agreed that, barring new developments, the school will join the league and that Auburn University will move to the SEC East Division, according to two people familiar with the discussions.

A majority of presidents has endorsed the informal agreement, the sources said.

I dont really care about the Big 10 outside of Ohio State, but it'd be nice if they were looking at some schools with good football programs to join while all of this is going on again so that they dont get forced to add the "outcasts"

Really they don't HAVE to add anyone. The B1G as it stands now - in football - is more powerful than the ACC with Pitt, Syracuse, Rutgers and UConn added when it comes to eyeballs on the screens and money in the coffers. The only reason to add another team would be if that team brings with it enough clout to improve the economic standing of all teams. The only "available" teams out there with that pedigree that fit the B1G, assuming Missouri is indeed gone to the SEC, are 1) Notre Dame, 2) ... maybe Rutgers? Of course Texas is out there but as far as I'm concerned, they're a pipe dream.

While I would love to see more top-notch schools added to the conference, I don't think NOT adding a team spells doom.

Apparently Oklahoma said the only way they stick with Big 12 is if shit changes and Beebe is told to GTFO

As for WVU, they haven't been "rejected" by SEC. They could be in play if SEC went to 16 (not a lot of options). No chance at ACC, however.

Couldn't all schools be charged with tampering? I'm not saying that the SEC didn't cool off. Just saying I doubt it was out of fear of tampering

By the SEC going after Mizzou, it's tampering. They just have to change it to make it look like Mizzou approached the SEC.

Pretty sure it is a rule that you (a conference) may not go after another school without the consent of that school's conference.

Now if the school approaches them, fair game.

A rule....where? Did the Big East follow some rule about contacting the last 5 teams they've poached from the Big East?

I saw a tweet about their being legal action against a conference if they "poach" schools. Not sure if it's 100% true or not, that's why I said "pretty sure" haha

The tampering issue I believe comes from the fact that the Big 12 schools actually made some written agreement after last year.

I doubt the Big East signed off on the ACC talking to Syracuse and Pitt. They would have known it would lead to the conference's demise. Nobody signs off on that

I don't believe there's any "tampering" charge with the NCAA. I do believe that some Big 12 schools have threatened a lawsuit for interference with their TV contract, but I doubt they'd ever seriously try that and doubt even more that they'd win. Conferences have buyouts for a reason. Other conferences aren't bound by any school's agreements, the SEC just doesn't want to waste money on the chance some dipshit school like Baylor pulls some nonsense that would cost money, win or lose. (All opinion.)

Pitt was a hot item because of the Pittsburgh market. But have you ever seen how many Pitt fans show up for a home game? And their football team is average or below.

So maybe it's because I'm dumb, but why is the B10 not looking at WVU?

Academics primarily. Market size secondarily.
