I think those two are type-cast, maybe him more so than her. Hard to imagine walking away from the money they were making (I believe $400k+ an episode). Sure, they have a boatload of money but also relatively young and tv series stars rarely seem to get any other decent work after a run.
I thought Benson was leaving and Jennifer Love Hewitt would be on it but so far Benson is still there and Jennifer Love Hewitt isn't. If you recall the final episode of last season Stabler ended up killing a young girl and they basically said in the beginning of this season that he decided to retire.

Read somewhere Benson was transitioning and her character was actually being phased out.

I lost track the last year or two of this show and didn't know why Stabler left. Heard the Captain say "Elliot's not coming back" and thought maybe he died. Sounds like that was a good way for his character to leave, though. Normally these shows go for the dramatic death in the line of duty.

Yeah, I understand what you are saying. They brought in a new male detective (from the show Cold Case) and a new female detective. The male detective won't be able to fill Stabler's shoes totally but he played a detective for years on Cold Case and has made a smooth transition to SVU. It will be an alright show without Stabler and Benson but I can't see it keeping any where near the ratings.

Wasn't planning on watching this show, but Showtime and HBO rarely disappoint (other than Treme..that is the worst show ever), so if you make a decent argument I'll watch the first couple episodes right now.

Anyone got a good link to watch re-runs?

The premise alone has me intrigued to watch.

Husband and wife return home from deployment after a few years and she suspects him of espionage and treason against the USA or something along those lines. If it was Broadcast TV, probably not. But Showtime and HBO with a concept like that could be great TV.

I haven't been watching, but my buddy's wife had it on the other night, and it seems like the most contrived, BS singing show so far. Paula was cryin' and couldn't make a decision so, of course, it set Simon up to be the decision maker.

Community is pretty much all that have lol.

Anyone on here watch Once Upon a Time on ABC? I've had to watch it the last 2 weeks with the GF. Only good thing about it is the blonde chick who used to be on House is the main character.

I was one of those people who heard about Simon and started watching American Idol and kind of just enjoyed it and kept watching. So naturally when I heard about X Factor I was interested. Well to me it started off bad and everyone else seemed to like it better than American Idol. Now it's at the live shows and I think it has been much better. I still dont like it as well as Idol though. Yeah, Paula is as dramatic as she ever was. People vote on who they want to keep just like Idol but the judges pick out of the bottom two who they want to keep and Paula couldn't make her decision at first because she was in charge of the groups and the bottom 2 were both groups. At first she couldn't make her decision but she eventually did.

I usually have no interest in those type of shows(sci-fi), but the concept is pretty cool, and they do a good job of incorporating the Tales in a modern way.

I've been watching it with the wife -- not bad.

There are some shows she likes that I refuse to watch (biggest loser, desperate housewives, etc.), so it's nice to have a show that she enjoys that I don't mind.

But when Housewives comes on, I leave for football/video games.

I agree it's not too bad with what women normally watch. My GF isn't much of a TV watcher so its good that we basically only watch the things that I like.

The only two new shows I'm watching are New Girl (love the no laugh track) and Person of Interest (which has potential to be a great show, great concept and two great actors). Started watching Covert Affairs this year (caught up to date on first two years via Netflix and DVR). Beyond that DVR Mentalist, Leverage, Castle, Tosh.0, Soup. Will start The League soon once season 2 becomes available on Netflix. Anything else I'm missing that I should be watching.
