You can see the lines in the turf at Ashland. Unfortunately for Ashland HS, AU left them for their beautiful new place, which BTW had NCAA uprights and hashes, so no OHSAA playoff games there.

Could you imagine naming the field "PNC Field" and then 2 yrs later PNC is taken over by lets say Hunington Bank...then what???

I think the best chance for turf is to have the big businesses in town donate and add in individual donations just as we did for the Multi-purpose...
It would be just like the 585 Baseball fields. National City donated the 250,00 to own the naming rights ( National City Fields), The when PNC came into the picture they just put up a new sign PNC fields. I'm sure there is a 500 pg book on the legality of owning, naming rights somewhere.

I'm thinking the weather is going to break around 6pm so we don't sit in the rain. Le't hope. Can't wait to see Arlin field! Can't wait to get another victory!

Plenty of room to spread out tonight even if it rains for an umbrella. Just don't sit in front of RedRider1. I think he has a phobia of umbrellas from Mary Poppins or something. Its ok RR1. I can't stand the wizard of Oz because of those dang monkeys!!

Hate to lose for sure. got to give credit to Senior though. You always wait for them screw up but that was all our job again. They out athleted us all night. /they ran multiple formations without a hitch and we struggle just snapping the ball. We were bad. We need to figure something out offnsively and with our injury pool growing we don't have many options. I don't want to take away from the Tygers. with the fourth quarter they played vs. Clear fork and this game they found themselves a great QB and only a soph. Made decent throws and good decisions. Congrats Tygers

Learn and respond. This season is a great opportunity for the coaches to talk about life....because life is a lot like how this season is.

Why would you be waiting for the other team to "screw up"? Perhaps they are more disciplined than you give them credit for.

That's called "COACHING", isn't it?!

Fumbles and turnovers again...darn "slick ball"and those silly refs trying to towel it dry! LOL!

Do we have a coaching problem when you can't just run #25 all game? I read that he had a great game with 135 yards rushing.

How can that be when I keep reading that Orrville has such excellent, unbiased coaching? Again I say, coach so as not to have +/-30 boys on the sideline which rarely if ever get on the field. Good backups may well be available if the coaches put the work in.

Series,
In your opinion...who is not seeing the field that could have an impact on this team? It's an honest question.

rr1, I don't have time to attend every practice, nor do I know any but two of the young men on the team. Therein, I can't tell you any player by name with the exception of three. #4, #19, Wally Woods who I really haven't had real contact with him in two or three years. #4 does play sparingly, #19, time will tell, although I've seen some of his QB skills, and his are better than the guy they put in at the end of the Lexington game.

What I do see is the same thing I've seen since I've been here in Orrville. From roughly 7th grade on, the coaches tend to have a "core" set of players that they will play. If you're a late developer in size or skills, you will most likely get lost in the sideline shuffle.
If you aren't from here and have demonstrable skills, you may get time, but you will be overshadowed by a hometown favorite.

That is what is happening to #1 right now. Some say he isn't a good RB, he's much quicker and much more evasive than #25. How about trying him with #25 blocking for him? Not to take anything away from #25 and his excellent power running, but utilizing #1 will add to playbook variety and offensive weaponry. How many times have they tried him there to see the results? How many times do they throw to him? Granted his speed helps to get #11 open, but they throw to #11 most of the time. There is no reason #11 should be returning kickoffs and punts, my opinion, those should always go to #1. You keep stats, for the number of times #1 gets the ball, what is his percentage of accumulating good yardage/scoring.

However, I feel that if most of those that are on the sidelines will not have an impact on the game and will therefore never get any time on the field, what's the point of being there with the exception of that "certain something" one gets by "suiting up on Friday nights"?

Good win for Mansfield. So I take it Orrville didn't get to rest their starters in the 2nd half as mentioned earlier? The saying fits here "that's why you play the game".
