Agree with robj55 here.

Was Ortiz a bitch with the intentional headbutt? Yes.

Was he penalized for said bitch move? Yes. (-1 point)

The referee is supposed to officially resume the fight and I don't know why he took so long or let PBF's punches go unpenalized since the fight had not officially resumed.

That being said, the hug fest was unnecessary and Ortiz should have been ready....but that doesn't make what PBF did legal.

If someone other than Floyd Mayweather did this same thing they wouldn't take any flak.

I watched Tarvis Simms KO someone the same way on undercard of Hopkins/Joppy. They were clinched, the ref was moving in but had not said break or anything else yet the other guy put his hands down, Simms drilled him, fight over, Simms not Floyd Mayweather, nobody had a problem with it.

People hate PBF because he's black and arrogant. Point blank. He's also 42-0, so people love hating the top gun.

Simms is black too.................unlike Flolyd he is not and never was famous.
If Bernard Hopkins, Kelly Pavlik, Wladimir Klitschko or Manny Pacquiao did this same thing they would catch hell for it too.

Race doesn't have a damn thing to do with it for me. Arrogance and him being great.....sure, I'll admit to that.

No doubt that race is an issue for some people but you'll have that.

Interesting. If it's legal then so be it. But I thought the guys on the feed I was watching made a great point...never saw a situation like that in boxing where the ref didn't get between the fighters, make the arm movement and say fight to resume action.

The ref didn't send Floyd to a neutral corner when deducting a point, and that doesn't make it right anyway, it was a cheap shot. He faked the embrace and sucker punched him.
