I don't think the Browns could possibly play any worse then they did last Sunday. Brackett being out should help out the run game some.

Under or over Hillis getting 25 carries on Sunday? If he gets at or around there, they should win this game...if their OL can show up and block this week. If he gets 20-25 carries and Hardesty get from 5-10 with McCoy throwing no more than 35 passes, should be good offensively. But we'll see how the offense is called...

Saw where another LB is also out for Indy, besides Brackett. So they've got two starting LB'ers out, plus a smallish defensive line.

If the Browns can't run on this team, something is very, very wrong with that OL.

Isn't that the truth....If they were so focused on getting the fans a win then why were they still in the huddle while the bengals were running a play.

Zach, Hillis will have 18 carries on Sunday and Hardesty will have about 12....and that is really pushing it. Shurmur wants to throw the ball, even if the defense is giving us the run.

I hope that Hillis gets more than 18 carries and I dont think Hardesty will get that many carries...unless Hillis is hurt or something...could throw him some passes but I really hope that if we are running the ball with success we dont abandon it and try to throw the ball...do whatever's working.

I hope we don't give up on the run as well....this team should be a playaction pass team anyway. We don't have the receiving corp to have an effective west coast right now. Run, run some more, then use our two TE's and Little in the passing game with playaction and rollouts.

They were focused on how sweet it would be to get the fans a win in the season opener and completely missed the play, duh?

I am about 94% confident the Browns will not beat Indy

I've gotta say that I'm a little surprised with the number of negative comments about Shurmur and his team after only one regular season game. Especially after a lot of optimism and positive remarks on here in the preseason.

It just comes off as a bit of a knee jerk reaction by some on here. Give the guy some time. If the same mistakes/mishaps are happening midway thru the season or later....that's a little more understandable.

It's not so much "knee jerk" in the "he lost his first game, he's gotta go" as much as I don't think I've EVER seen a Browns coach get off to such a horrible start (AJ Green screwup and sending an injured punter out). It's excusable to lose in your first game as a coach but this guy had lead many, including myself, to believe that he had his shit together. He'd better get his act together, FAST.

He may have his shit together. Sometimes things just don't come together in a particular game for one reason or another. I think the important thing will be to see if he learns from his mistakes. And he's probably gonna need some time to show that ability....especially with that youth movement philosophy by the Browns. You have to live with some of the mistakes the young guys make.

Shurmur doesn't have much to work with....but it's not too hard to be focused and discipline when you are between the lines. This is going to be a long process, but I think the difference here is Holmgren and Heckert are going to keep Shurmur around long enough to see what he can do when he does have a lot of talent/depth on the roster....right now we don't have that, and you can see the product on the field. Sure we should've won Sunday, but this is the NFL and anyone can win on any given Sunday....no way the Browns should've beat the Saints and Pats last year, but they did.

He can't go anywhere but up from here because last week was close to rock bottom.

That's a dangerous statement. I have felt that way in the past as a browns fan, only to be proven wrong :)

I'm looking forward to seeing the matchup between Haden-Wayne...that will be a much bigger test for him. I know he wont have Manning throwing it to him, but still. If we just get our ground game going against Indy and keeep hitting them with it opening up the pass...I think we have a good chance.

For as bad as Collins was last week, Wayne still went for over 100 yards and a TD. He's still VERY dangerous with or without Manning.

Browns are going to be bringing back the Pony this week. Hope we see huge games from BOTH Hillis & Hardesty. Frankly would love it if Colt didn't throw a pass the whole game but that's not realistic. :p

Unless he is throwing it to either one of those guys or Ben Watson.

If they are going to throw it, at least run it enough that the play action actually works. I'd like to see some power I formations with Owen leading the way. I don't recall seeing it that often last game.
