I would just like to add, that this looks like a game that the browns should win....which is disaster. I mean, Collins will somehow throw like he is in his prime...I have no faith that we win this game.

Exactly why they won't win. Exactly why I started getting a bad feeling this past sunday when i started walking toward the stadium.wes_mantooth;894944 wrote:I would just like to add, that this looks like a game that the browns should win....which is disaster. I had a bad vibe prior to that Cincy game when all of the resident Browns' jackasses were saying it was a "gimme" and were predicting a blowout. I thought the Browns would win but never thought it would be a "gimme" or blowout.like_that;894975 wrote:Exactly why they won't win. Those posts were running thru my head. smh. Who would have thought at the beginning of the season that the Browns would open this week as 2 1/2 point favorites AT Indy ?

At this point...the Browns shouldn't be favorites in any game they play. We have a LONG lONG LONG way to go.

It just pisses me off because it's bad mojo. The football "god's", for the most part, don't want Cleveland to be happy. When fans start getting arrogant/cocky they (football god's) tend to smite us with the most unusual/cruel ways to lose. Even if a fan suspects a blowout, it should be thought...for maybe a second, and NEVER to be spoken aloud.like_that;895098 wrote:Those posts were running thru my head. smh. You're telling me. It's beyond me how any Cleveland fan can predict a Browns blowout win.BR1986FB;895120 wrote:It just pisses me off because it's bad mojo. If our OL steps it up this sunday...I think they definitely have a good chance. We need to get Hillis going and unless they can stop him or he needs a breather, then throw it a few times. I think the TE's will be huge in this game too.

They were talking about Hillis/Hardesty today on 92.3 saying if they could keep Hardesty healthy, in this WCO, they could be utilized like a 49er's Tom Rathman/Roger Craig combo. They obviously weren't comparing the Browns' players skills to those guys but said they could be used in the same fashion.zach24oz;895177 wrote:If our OL steps it up this sunday...I think they definitely have a good chance. Yea, I just think they went away from using Hillis running the ball way too early...I hope the keep running the ball against the Colts until either he needs a little breather or to keep running it that you can get them on the PA pass...the PA passes werent working bc we werent even trying to run it so why bother respecting the fake?

Hillis should have a big day. Freeney and Mathis dont know how to stop the run. They are great, but only when the LBers and DTs force a 2nd and 7 or more and 3rd and 4 or more.

Do you not remember how bad our offensive line looked on Sunday....YOU could get a pass rush going against the right side of our line. These two may have a field day. Prayers go out to Colt.Laley23;895292 wrote:Hillis should have a big day. Freeney and Mathis dont know how to stop the run. Yes, pass rushing they will kill Colt. But if Peyton and the Browns establish a run game, the Colts wont be able to stop it without bringing 8 to the box, since Freeney and Mathis are worthless in the run game (ok, not worthless. But you get my point).OQB;895351 wrote:Do you not remember how bad our offensive line looked on Sunday....YOU could get a pass rush going against the right side of our line. This is complicated:
-Peyton Hillis
-Peyton Manning
-Colts
-Colt McCoy

To piggyback on what others have said, if Shurmur gets "pass happy" in this game and forgets about the run he should be shot on sight. Looking at the Colts front four you have weights of 245, 265 (interior DL who should get mauled), 303 (which is their "monster") and 268.
They should be feeding the ball to Hillis & Hardesty in masses doses to set up the passes to Moore & Watson. This is a game where the Browns should come out with the intent of slugging the Colts in the mouth, repeatedly. NOT rocket science.

It will be interesting to see if the Colts stack the line at the start to force the Browns to throw. If so, it will be key for Colt to have some early success to make Indy play them straight up. If that happens, I can see Hillis and Hardesty doing well. I'd also use Smith a few times since he'd be blazing fast on that turf and could possibly break something long.BR1986FB;895649 wrote:To piggyback on what others have said, if Shurmur gets "pass happy" in this game and forgets about the run he should be shot on sight. Colts LB Gary Brackett ruled out for this game. More fuel for the running game.

They better run the ball, and run some more.
