You're never as good as you look. I have a ton of respect for Dantonio, I can see him being this decade's Tressel--but 48 yards means you dominated and then continued to dominate with the backups. The latter part is meaningless. FAU would get beat by a ton of FCS schools and maybe Mount Union.

Avatar bet? I'll take ND +17.Classyposter58;892822 wrote:I think the Spartans might be one of...if not the best team in the Big 10 this year. They are a much more complete team than the Irish...they have a very balanced and steady offensive attack combined with a dominating defense. I mean did anyone see what they did to FAU? I know it's Florida Atlantic but they held them to 48 YARDS of offense. I mean that's just sick and with an athletic WR corps and great leader at QB I gotta go with Michigan State by 17

Just saw a pic on Facebook that Jim Rome posted of "The Situation" on the Michigan State sideline.

He coached under Tressel, runs similar sets and whatnot. Why not? He won't win 7 Big Ten championships or anything, but then again the Big Ten won't be as crappy as it was for a stretch last decade.Zoltan;893284 wrote::huh:

I guess I took you to mean you thought he might approach Tressel's success, which he obviously will not get near. I am 26 and I doubt I see another 10 year run like that at any big 10 school in my lifetime.Tobias Fünke;893287 wrote:He coached under Tressel, runs similar sets and whatnot. Why not? We will never see a run like that in the Big 10 again. AS Tobias said, a combo of a down Big Ten from 2007 and after (I think the Big Ten was pretty strong from 2001-2006) and adding in a Championship game will definitely make it tougher for coaches in the B1G.Zoltan;893324 wrote:I guess I took you to mean you thought he might approach Tressel's success, which he obviously will not get near. Ragone out for season with ACL surgery. Jake Golic and Welch back this week. Spond questionable. Cwynar has broken hand, will play.

Kelly says he will not punt anymore this year. Will go for every 4th down.

I thought that was in response to a question asking what he would do if the punter continued to struggle. I didn't get the impression he was planning on doing that right now.karen lotz;894403 wrote:Kelly says he will not punt anymore this year. Will go for every 4th down.

Does Ragone get a sixth year?
I hope not.

So I just read that ND has turned the ball over TEN times this season. I thought it was nine. Must've missed one in the circus otherwise known as the redzone.

He could apply for one. Not sure if Kelly would bring him back ala Wenger. Scholie numbers will be tight as it is.

Against Michigan, there were five more turnovers and nine more penalties, giving the Irish 10 turnovers and 17 penalties in the two games.

Fucking horrendous. Although there's a decent chance it happens....I dread the idea of losing to Sparty and falling to 0-3. We think it's bad now....

Maybe they are including the fumble on the last kickoff in those turnovers?

Looks like I'm going to the game as long as I can find someone to take my place in a scramble Saturday morning.

I'm not a fan of Notre Dame at all but having watched both teams play, if ND cuts out the stupid turnovers (which I think that they will) they will beat MSU rather handily I think 38-17. ND has much more talent overall than MSU (over rated) ND was clearly a much better team than South Florida and Michigan and this week that will show. While I would love to see ND go 0-12, I think 8-4 or 9-3 is more realistic. MSU will not be able to run the ball well enough to keep the pass rush off of Cousins, MSU will be the team with the turnovers this week.

If "getting a rise" out of someone is your goal, that is pathetic.Tiernan;898266 wrote:Felt like I went YARD on that one...got a rise outa you.
And if shaking my head at how miserable that joke was qualifies, then you win. I guess...
