They'll blow a 21-point lead by turning the ball over a dozen times. Michigan State won't need an extra second this year.

Unlike UM, Sparty has a defense.

Sparty by 14.

I'm going to make sure my wife keeps me away from tall buildings, because if Notre Dame starts off 0-3, I might jump out of a window.

After this start...7-5 looks more and more likely.

Michigan State has a defense, but am I insane to really like Notre Dame's defensive match up here? Michigan State plays classic Big Ten running football and I don't expect a ton of rushing success. No team has ran well on Notre Dame since October of last year (sans Robinson, but if I need to explain why he's a different beast..nvrm).

Notre Dame needs to stop fucking themselves in the ass. Snag a win against Michigan State and they will beat Pittsburgh, Purdue, and Air Force. Getting to USC at 4-2 is crucial.

Some stats and matchup talk sound good but I can't believe in this team until they give me a reason to. They're finding ways to lose games. Evidently taking care of the ball is a big chore for this team.

9 turnovers in two weeks? A fucking joke. A sick one at that. DB's looking absolutely lost (Gary Gray especially) is unacceptable. All of the progress they appeared to have made in the winning streak to finish last year seems like a distant memory. And what's sad is the D played pretty darn good for most of the first 7 quarters of this season. But if ya' can't hold a 17 point 4th quarter lead and a 3 point lead with 30 fuckin' seconds left.....fuck you....you deserve to lose.

Not sure how they rebound from this atrocious start. This season was not supposed to start like this.....

Harrison Smith and Zeke Matta suck, so does Gary gray. They couldn't cover my Grandma and she has been dead for 10 years.

I'll take ND +40. Loser is never allowed to post in the college football forum again.

Deal?

You'll probably just ignore this one like you did in the ND/UM game thread.

No way they lose by 40. That's not gut wrenching enough. They'll lose at the last second again.

Sounds about right. They'll connect on a Hail Mary to win the game. That's par for the course. Or ND will be going for the win and turn it over and MSU returns it for a TD. Gotta mix some ill-timed turnovers in there as well.

Imagine if they successfully win on a fake field goal for the second year in a row, imagine.

MSU isn't very good. Notre Dame wins this one and while it might not be a blowout, I think the Irish will be in control the whole way.

I'm going with Notre Dame. ND's defense will stop MSU's running game. ND doesn't have to worry about a running QB this week. Keep feeding it to Wood and Floyd. (Floyd is uncoverable)

MSU - 17
ND - 27

Notre Dame opened as a 3.5 point favorite. Within an hour the line moved to -5.

Out of curiosity does anybody have a lower moment as an ND fan than Saturday night? I'm not one of the guys who were putting Notre Dame in the national title picture this summer but like any sports fan I hoped they would do well. I mean if you asked me two weeks ago how I'd like the season to play out I'd have said beating Michigan and USC and improving on the win total from last year would have been a complete success. I understand that they can still accomplish two of the three but all the same I really can't think of a lower time for myself as a fan. The night started with a couple beers and by the time the fourth quarter wrapped up it was redbull and vodkas until either blackout or heart attack. The Tulsa loss last year, the Bush Push, the Boston College game in '02, none of them really compared for me.

I think the Spartans might be one of...if not the best team in the Big 10 this year. They are a much more complete team than the Irish...they have a very balanced and steady offensive attack combined with a dominating defense. I mean did anyone see what they did to FAU? I know it's Florida Atlantic but they held them to 48 YARDS of offense. I mean that's just sick and with an athletic WR corps and great leader at QB I gotta go with Michigan State by 17
