BRF will get it going after the debacle last night (in which in recent memory there was no game thread going). A requirement for this thread will be posting some good bitching. Can the Tribe suck up and finish this year over .500? At least second place?

What if....we start out getting bombed by the ChiSox and then go on a tear and have the best record in baseball, and then proceed to fritter it all away because the front office just wants to have a decent enough product to get people in the seats and then roll over and die. What if....2012 will be the same thing?

Nice to see a spark from Chisenhall, even if it's late in the season.

Pulling the "Joe Carter/Brook Jacoby/Cory Snyder hit em' when they don't matter to pad the stats" syndrome. :D

^^^I have always defended and maintained that Jhonny Peralta was a good player, grossly unappreciated by most Cleveland fans. He offensive game was victimized by he stagnant coaching of the Wedge/Shelton regime. He was an above average defender despite the perceptions. Most importantly, Peralta wasn't made of glass. He was out there 140+ games a year delivering a consistent, professional, major league performance. I don't think there is any doubt that Asdrubal is a better shortstop than JP....but even though he gets to balls that Peralta could only wave at, he boots a lot of balls and throws away a lot of plays that Peralta never did. I am happy for Jhonny...that he has a coach that could take his offense to the next level, and that he is getting the props he derserves.

Moon Pie would've been great if he didn't wait until the weather got warm to hit when he was here.

It'll be interesting to see if White can improve his 7+ ERA with Colorado.

'Moon Pie" has a great swing. He is a line drive, gap shooting, hit the ball to all fields with power kind of hitter... A hitter in the Derek Shelton mould if there ever was one. That 'school' of thought, however, teaches you to swing as hard at the third strike as you do at the first....the theory that the extra strikeouts that happen will be more than made up for by the extra big hits. The only problem was that when Hafner went down, there was no 'feared' hitters one around him, and it was easy for opposing pitchers to pitch around him. This is not the case with current Tiger lineup which is loaded with big hitters...and hence JP has flourished.

Oh. I just thought Pomeranz MLB debut was something a lot of Indians fans might have interest in. I'm completely flaccid over here though.
