Let's hear it....how fast could you throw at your peak. Walt Jocketty is probably not reading.

I topped out at 82 mph....but that was rare....more of a 77-79 guy. A crafty lefty so to speak. Not bad for a 160 lb short kid.

Back in '88, if coach would have put me in, we'd have won state.

Wanna watch me throw a football over that mountain?

I threw around 86 in high school. I tried one of those fair "guess your speed" games on the 4th of July. I've lost almost 20 MPH off of my fastball....

My 14yr old was gunned at 72 by coach Craddock at the COW 2 weeks ago. Not blazing speed, but has nice control.

Me, my average speed is about 16-17 at the break point, followed by a crushing strike.

No idea what I was able to throw at my peak because I wasn't a pitcher, but I hit 70 in the pitching cage at the Reds Hall of Fame the last time I was there.

About 12 years ago (so I was in my mid 40's already), I threw one 76 mph to win a contest at a San Antonio Missions AAA minor league double header. They had one of those pitching cages set up and you could throw up to 5 pitches for a couple of bucks. If you threw the fastest on to that point they wrote down your name. Between games they called me out to the field to give me a tee-shirt, a hat and a booble head for winning the thing. I was shocked, but now that I think about it there probably wasn't a thousand people in the stands and most of them were probably drunk. :)

I topped out at 98 MPH, but couldn't hit a strike zone to save my life.

I think 72 was the highest I ever hit at a fair booth. I never pitched past Junior League and defiantly had a "football arm".

On a side note, a buddy of mine was throwing in one of those booths at a county fair about 10 years ago and broke his arm Tom Browning style. Unreal.

RPM's used to be upper 300's until age caught up.....now around 320 when I did a session with Jasnau in Reno last spring.

at the fair with a rubber ball is definately the most accurate way! lol

Guessing 70 mph would top me out right now.

Impressively my sister can throw 70 mph......that used to be fun at the fairs!

87 mph....2 no hitters and a perfect game my sophomore year. Quit baseball prior to my senior year after my coach ragged my arm out as a junior.

If I tried to throw right now after the years of heavy lifting I'd blow out my rotator cuff.

High School I topped out at 88 at a Wichita State baseball camp. But I averaged out around 85. Not bad since I am a lefty.

What does being a lefty have to do with it? Billy Wagner, Randy Johnson and Aroldis Chapman are wondering.

Didn't coach by the Verducci effect? Brooks Lawrence blew mine out at Wilmington College during fall ball practice.....he was a touch old school and having me pitch for an hour and a half in 50 degree October weather.....knowing I was trying to impress him as a freshman......well let's just say he didn't help me any.

Pitched 6x's over a 7 day span. Had two other pitchers out with elbow surgery. The final straw was when he sent me out there the 6th time in 2" of snow. :D
