This happen to anyone else? Read online that it is a known problem, but restoring to the previous backup doesn't fix the issue. I've tried looking for a fix to get all the photo's etc back but nothing yet.

Are you sure he didn't chose to setup as a new phone after he updated?Commander of Awesome;936580 wrote:Friend of mine's phone was restored back to factory settings after they upgraded to iOS5. lost all the apps, music, texts, photos etc... No said it was a normal update. I looked at a few nerd forums, wasn't the only case where this happened. Sucks but seems it was an issue when updated. Didn't happen to me or anyone else I know with an iphone.

Reason to wait for the iPhone 5? Complete redesign; Steve Jobs' last project.

There is absolutely nothing noteworthy in this. Re-hashing stuff everyone already knows (or can safely assume)TigerNation10;936897 wrote:Reason to wait for the iPhone 5? Complete redesign; Steve Jobs' last project.

I don't care that they're the most valuable company. They're marketing geniuses.

Except that the article came out 2 days ago. Most knew that the lastest iPhone was just a tweaked 4.dlazz;936974 wrote:There is absolutely nothing noteworthy in this. Re-hashing stuff everyone already knows (or can safely assume)
I hear Jobs had a 4 year plan outlined for new products.

Orrrr........this was just a way to calm shareholder's fears that now that Jobs is gone, the advancements on the iPhone will not stack up to the competition. By releasing a statement that says, "everything's fine, Jobs worked really close with the NEXT iPhone" they basically bought themselves a year's worth of security from the people who are slightly nervous.Automatik;936983 wrote: I hear Jobs had a 4 year plan outlined for new products.

Job's knew he was on his way out health wise. The man was a genius, do you really think he didn't have a plan?sherm03;936990 wrote:Orrrr........this was just a way to calm shareholder's fears that now that Jobs is gone, the advancements on the iPhone will not stack up to the competition. I'm not saying he didn't have a plan. But we're still about a year away from the iPhone 5. He could have said what he would like to see on the device, but in terms of actually getting that done...it's another story. When issues come up (whether it be design, or technical, or something else), they don't have the guru to turn to anymore. That makes shareholders nervous.Automatik;936998 wrote:Job's knew he was on his way out health wise. The man was a genius, do you really think he didn't have a plan?
So unless the iPhone 5 comes out within the next 5-6 months, I will take this as Apple just trying to ease fears.

Companies plan their device schedules years in advance. It would seem irresponsible that they didn't start planning on whatever is going to succeed the 4S about 18 months ago.

There's no doubt Apple would have (or should have, anyway) at least a 3-yr product develop plan, perhaps longer. That's just good business practice.
Also, the culture that Jobs built is not going to just unravel overnight, although sometimes it can be surprisingly quick.

Right. They plan on what they would like to see happen. But in this business, things change from day to day so drastically that you can't plan for everything. Like I said, Jobs may have said what he wanted to see on the iPhone 5. But the device is so far out (in terms of market release) that it would be unlikely that an actual pre-production prototype is actually being used right now inside Apple headquarters.ohiotiger33;937021 wrote:Companies plan their device schedules years in advance. And what happens during testing when they hit a snag or something needs worked out. Jobs isn't there to correct it this time around.
And no, I'm not saying that Steve Jobs single-handedly made all the decisions for the previous iPhones. But that is the picture they are painting in that article. And if that is actually the case, that iPhone 5 better be something that hits shelves January 1st.

This was shot with the iPhone 4S from the top row of the visitor's side of Harding Stadium. Pretty impressive for phone!

Lmao.
"I don't understand 'fuck'"
It sounded like Siri was hesitant to swear.

Not so much push, but "Free Memory" shows you what's running in the background. Plus you can "free up" RAM - so they advertise. I can't really tell if it's legit or not.ernest_t_bass;934163 wrote:Is there an App out there that will show you what other apps are taking up data by push notifications? I've scoured the Settings and I can just never tell if I have Apps that are using data while I'm not using them.
Here's my available RAM -

And after hitting the refresh button at the bottom -
