I dunno who would have ever considered Ohio State as a trap game in lieu of playing a mid major the following week.

(I know what you're saying though, just looks kinda funny is all)

Living in Toledo, this town is pretty pumped for the Boise game. I think it has more to do with it being a home game, and a lot of Toledo fans also being OSU fans in this area. But Boise is for sure the bigger game on everyones mind right now.

I was scheduled to work it before ESPN picked it up (subsequently knocking us off the coverage). Now all 3 of our trailors will be out at the HS games. If it was a Saturday I might try to go, but with it being a Friday night game, not much chance in hell Ill be able to call off a Football Friday. Oh well. Ill probably DVR it though and watch it early Saturday before the other games start.

Bullshit. I don't buy that for one second except for it being home. I'll gaurantee, to the players/coaches, this is by far the bigger game. When you have the chance to go against big big in state brother, and beat them, it would pay MUCH bigger dividends than beating Boise. No offense to Boise and what they are doing currently. But OSU is the biggest game for any in state school.

I don't think that's true. You have a top 5 team coming in to your stadium for a nationally televised night game. That's as big as it gets for the University of Toledo. Will OSU be a big game for Toledo? Sure. Will playing well against a top 5 team on national tv be bigger? Most likely.

LOL, you are delusional. People are going to be more fired up for a game versus a top 5 team that they get to attend than a team that they have to watch on TV. Not to mention most UT fans are OSU fans first. We arent even talking about the players or coaches or anything, but the vibe in the city. I live here...you dont, so please dont tell me what the vibe is.

When UT beat Pittsburgh there was a TON of hype around the game. Same feeling as with Boise. They played OSU before, including last year. No one gives a shit really if OSU isnt coming to town.

Laley, I will ask you this question because of your UT insight. If you were the OSU offensive coordinator how would you attack the Rocket defense? Power run with big backs? Pass a lot? Spread it out? How many points do you see the Buckeyes scoring? Game prediction?

I dont really have great UT insight. I just work in the media and have a good feel for the towns sporting sense if you will. I actually havent gotten to see them play but a few times last year. From the games I did see, teams had a lot of success passing the ball versus the Rockets. But again, those were MAC games and they often are shootouts. It is going to come down to 2 things...If UT wins the ST (I think they will, with Page returning for UT) AND (not or) they win the turnover battle by 2-3 they have a shot to be in the game late. If they dont do both of those things, OSU rolls. Doesnt matter who is suspended/playing...OSU just has bigger bodies and stronger kids.

My prediction will be:

OSU 30
UT 17

But it could get much uglier. I do think UT is one of the top mid-majors this year in college ball. But they arent on OSU or Boises level.

I don't really think Toledo is as good as a lot of you seem to. I think OSU wins by 3 TDs or more.

They are sneaky talented and they have a very good coach.

I think a lot of the upperclassmen who played against the Buckeyes the last time around may think to themselves "okay, we played them and I know I can play at that level" (not saying it's true, but athletes at this level are all uber confident like that) and maybe come out incredibly pumped because they're not so afraid to get punched in the mouth. Simply saying, they may realize that the Buckeyes are human too.

Of course, they could take one step into Ohio Stadium and shit the bed. I think Beckman will have them prepared tough. He probably realizes he's on the fairly short list of people to take the Ohio State job should Gene Smith et al not want to stick with Ohio State's current staff; he's going to want to impress.

I think the Buckeyes win 38-17.

While I definitely think Toledo will not be a gimme, Miami will have back their six defensive starters for the OSU game. Last night's game is not the Miami you will see in 2011.

As of today the depth chart hasn't changed. Meaning no Jordan Hall or Travis Howard... hopefully this gets resolved by saturday.

Berry not on it either?? I find it strange that he was dressed and repped with the first team during warmups Saturday. He must be close.

Also Whiting and Lindsay not in it, who should be back so someone obviously just copied last weeks for this week's lunch. I hope. Twitter is about to blow up with news from the luncheon.

Suspended players will have to earn their starting spots back. Same QB rotation for toledo as we had for akron. Fickell said he hopes Berry is back this week.

Am I the only one that thinks this could be the most talented secondary we have had @ OSU in a very long time?

CB wise yes. I am still not sold on OJ, but when a guy like Christain Bryant can't make it on the field you know you have talent.

Along with the DB's, I'm also impressed with our young receivers. Even though they weren't challenged like they will be, they still had to go get the ball.

I think people are giving Braxton too much credit for the TD to Devin Smith. He threw the ball right to the Akron player and Devin snatched it away. That was a great catch, and then there was the one hander by Spencer. Good job by the young guys.

Agreed, by midseason this team should be able to lineup and run it down your throat or go 5-wide and sling it around the field.
