Toledo should be a much better opponent than Akron for the Buckeyes as they are one of the pre-season favorites to win the MAC. OSU should be able to use this as one more tweaker game before they head down to the U.

At this point, Toledo may be a better opponent than Miami.

Will be at the game! (my first OSU game since 2008). Last time I brought my wife (at that time, my girlfriend) to Ohio Stadium, OSU didn't score a TD (vs. PSU, when Pryor fumbled late). Hoping this time is a better better!

Interested to see how they will use Hall on offense. Wish Berry was healthy so we could of got a good look at him yesterday.

I thought Hall was playing more WR this year? In all honesty, I think I'd feel pretty good about a 2 man rotation with Carlos Hyde and Berry. You could also mix in Rod Smith a little bit as well.

I wish TP would have taken Herron with him when he left. The other guys are much too talented to be relegated to the bench. This is a transition year and I'd hate to waste carries on Herron. Dude is so overrated. His vision sucks! I don't how many times I have seen him run right into a pile. He can't break tackles (too small) and his speed isn't that great. He really brings nothing exciting to the table

Anyone have recommendations on where to sit in the Shoe? Going to pick up a pair on ebay/stubhub within the next 2 days. Money isn't really an issue but I'm not going to spend a crazy amount just to sit on the 50 10 rows up. I've seen some auctions that have seatbacks, are those in certain sections or can they just be added to any season tix for a fee? Wife is 7 months pregnant so she would probably enjoy those. Right now I'm thinking about going for something around the goal line in the A deck 20-30 rows up.

Jordo- Do you watch Herron when he plays? He's the best back on this team without question IMO.

Yes I watch Herron. He's solid but my point is that I hate to waste the time / carries on him. He misses 5 games and has no future after this year with the team. On top of that he broke rules and contributed to our program getting dinged by the NCAA. For that I could care less if he ever plays for us again.

After all of that, you throw in the fact that he has little breakaway speed and no size, I think he is very easy to replace. Just never been a fan of him.

Herron is good in a situation where you need to work the clock. He's very dependable, and an effective runner. Not a homerun hitter or someone that is going to impress you with his moves, but he's a solid back.

Yup. Agreed with all of this. I guess I'd just prefer to see the young guys keep getting touches. Hyde looked real tough yesterday! I just fear that Berry, Smith, and Hyde will get pushed completely to the side once Herron and Hall come back from their suspensions.

If the offense is rolling when Herron comes back, I don't think he'll go straight to the top of the depth chart. I think we'll see more of Hall as "Shot-Ginn" formation kinda guy. I still think Berry will be our best back this year.

If we are in a big game I will take Herron who I know won't fumble the ball (except the sugar bowl). I bet Oregon would of loved that last night.

Hopefully for your sake one of those 'big games' isn't the next 4 weeks.

Hall will get reps at running back for a few weeks, anyway. Berry's injury isn't going to let him come back for at least a couple weeks, and it's not something you want to rush or he'll end up with it lingering all season.

A rotation of Hall, Hyde and Smith, with Hall taking snaps in the slot when he's not at running back, sure sounds pretty damn good to me.

Toledo is good, but if Ohio State shows up this won't be a problem after one half. If they come out slowly, it could get interesting a la the BGSU game of 2003.

Agreed--the depth of OSU will wear the Rockets down, but this game should give the Buckeyes a better indication of where they're at and where they'll need to be as the season progresses...Akron was downright pathetic

This will be the MAC's best chance to knock off OSU in about the last 10 years. I think it will be very close the first half and the Bucks will pull away in the 2nd half. Toledo , this year, may be better than the bottom 1/3 of the Big Ten. Watch out, T-town will treat this like their super bowl and have worked all off season toward this game. Will the Bucks have a let down after blowing out their off season frustrations on Akron and be looking ahead to Miami? The perfect trap game.

Agreed.

Although I highly doubt this will happen, the Buckeyes need to take this one very seriously. If they don't and the Rockets pull off the upset, it could be a long season for Buckeye fans.

Let's not forget that Toledo is hosting Boise State the week after the OSU game, they could very well be looking forward to that. It could be a bigger game for Toledo.

I dunno who I would be able to get up more for? In state Big Brother or a top 5/6 team coming to town. Has Toldeo ever had 2 games as "big" as these in a row?
