I guess the band The Devonshires were to open for Pat Benatar somewhere in the Cincy area.

Pat Benatar supposedly thought they werent appropriate to open for her so they were paid to NOT TO PLAY, and given an extra thousand dollar bonus.

What is up with that? Never heard of that group......why would she not want them to play?

Maybe Pat Benatar is sponsored by Abercrombie & Fitch and they thought the Devonshire's lead singer looked too much like "The Situation?"

Well that's cool that the city (Blue Ash) paid them for the act plus the extra $1000.

Radio said pat benatar paid them plus the grand. She is the chick who sings "hit me with your best shot" among other chick rocker anthems.

Correct me if I am wrong.......some may not know her because she is old.......

...and I think she actually has a band that plays instruments. Drum, guitar, etc, and not just mixer machine or whatnot

Used to live in Blue Ash, they have a sweet mini amphitheater right in the middle of downtown with a bunch of businesses around. They have concerts there a couple times a week. For July 4th and Taste of Blue Ash the land some pretty big names. They can easily afford this. I read somwhere Benatar had a contract that was specific about what type of music could open for them and The Deconshires were too much of a rock band IIRC. They probably had a bad experience in the past with fans in that situation.
