BK was the same way with Tony Pike at UC (during a 12-0 season nonetheless) and Dan Lefevour at CMU. That's just his style.

ND still worries me heading into Ann Arbor. Their offense moved the ball on the ground and through the air. The defense kept them in the game. Defense looked good. Turnovers were the only thing that could've gave the Bulls a win. I'm sure we'll all see a different ND team next weekend.

Because people are pussies. If a recruit is turned off by that, he's a wimp. EVERY player will tell you that they like him pushing them to be their best. That is all that it is. Don't make mistakes and don't get yelled it.

"It was a tough choice between Notre Dame and Miami, but I've decided to attend the University of Miami. Frankly, Coach Kelly looked sorta mean and well, I like the way Coach Golden coddles my ballsack." Yeah, that'll happen...

That's a safe bet. Notre Dame's biggest issue is punting and receiving depth. Everything else can be corrected. Given Kelly's coaching success, you can bet that they will be corrected.

And I thought that was bullshit too. That was Nebraska and they're not my team.

Glad to see Notre Dame be extra cautious with the weather situation today. If Brian Kelly did that last year, a kid would still be alive.

The guys Kelly was yelling at were playing like shit and cost them a W. Im not sure I want a coach who isnt ripping them on the sidelines. Thats ridiculous to think he should be calm. 3 TO inside the 5 yard line??? GTFO!!! Id have had a stroke my blood pressure wouldve been so high.

+1. He was getting in the shit of veteran players and starters who were making horrible mental mistakes. You won't see BK go after a frosh like that. He wasn't getting physical with the players, which would be on another level. Pelini went after an official, which again is another level. I have no problem with my HC giving players an earful, and confident the players feel it was deserved. BK gets red fast, and it often looks worse than it is. I love the passion. Athletes understand getting yelled at is part of the game, and is deserved when they makes mistakes on the level of what happened at nd yesterday. Critics, or non-athletes, will just never understand.

Yeah, Kelly will coach like that the entire time he's there. He's just a fiery coach. I was rooting for USF but didn't actually expect them to win. The Big East is the only conference that's still undefeated ;)

maybe the media will relax now and stop claiming ND will be an elite team again like they do every year. doubt it.

Teams ranked between 16 and 18 in preseason polls are considered elite? Tell me more.

Never heard anyone in the media (except for Lou Holtz) say that Notre Dame has been an elite program recently.

Please just STFU. Asking a coach of a ranked team about a BCS Bowl isn't going overboard. And they did hire O'Leary. They fired him too.

On the sidelines, he reminds me of a former Michigan football coach. Never cared for it. IMO, there is a better way to do it.

Kelly looked bad on tv to politically correct people. If you are a fan its understandable because of the incredibly awful plays his players were making. The timing had Kelly turning colors. Wish I'd seen the 2nd half. I can see yelling at a player but he took it pretty far with the camera showing everybody watching.

I can't believe people are complaining about a football coach yelling at his players. And there are plenty of Notre Dame fans complaining too. These are the same fans that wonder why the team seems to struggle to overcome things like Gray's fumble.

I see it as something acceptable when you're winning, but looks bad when you're taking a beating.

I'm not really complaining about him, nor am I not a fan of BK (as a coach)...I just think he came off as a huge asshole. It's not that big of a deal lol

Kelly loosing his cool to that extreme can have a negative affect on your team. Anyone who's ever coached knows this.

Perfect example it RR vs. Hoke. Completely different styles, and Hoke's is much more effective for his team.

And you know Hoke is much more effective after a weather shortened win over Western Michigan?
