Akron is pretty terrible, so we should get to see alot of different guys playing for the Bucks. I'm interested to see the new staffs approach on game day.

42-3 OSU

Ready for the season to start. Drove by the stadium a few days ago and I really caught football fever.

The Buckeyes will win this one easily, but if they allow the Zips to have a respectable showing expect ESPN, Sports Illustrated, etc. to have a field day on the "Decimated Buckeyes."

Akron will be starting some juco transfer who was originally at ole miss. Came right in and took over the 2 year starters spot. Curious to see what he can do to maybe give a better outlook for the zips this year.

Regardless, OSU rolls. Good game for Miller to get his feet wet.

OSU will win, but I hope they don't cover the spread. I don't think they will. OSU rarely ever looks very good running the ball the first game or two of the season. We do have a lot of new players on defense, even though they'll be damn good this year. With a two QB system at least for Akron, I don't see the offense putting up a lot of points. I'm thinking something like 30-6.

Ohio State gets a bad rap, but they generally always cover the spread. I read a crazy stat about how many games in a row they have covered when they are the favorite

I'm curious to see how many points Fickell will put up on a team. He was part of some teams that put up huge points on the sisters of the poor.

Luke needs to understand that ESPN and others consider the Buckeyes (and Buckeye Nation) to be complete ass holes. I think he needs to make sure they still feel that way after Saturday by not taking the foot off the gas pedal against the Zips. No more Tresselball, just play wide open for four complete quarters regardless of who's playing. If they can completely demolish the non-conference opponents it will do wonders for the self-esteem of the players and the fans. I think Fickell needs to be Spurrier incarnate.

Hope it's not a hamstring. If it is, he needs to go see the guy Domicone consulted for his hamstring injuries.

Wow, if we have any injuries on the o-line this year shit could get real ugly. I can't fathom chris carter getting any playing time with some of the reviews I have heard about him this fall.

I expect the spread for this one to be too low IMO. I think OSU is going to come out swinging against a really bad team. If the spread is less than 30 and I think it will be, I would bet on OSU.

If he can't play, he can at least measure the other guys for their uniforms, right? He's an expert on uniform measurement, right? Too soon? :)

If it's a new era, don't we need to remove this "sweater vests" nonsense from the subtitle of this forum.

About the game itself, tO$U can name the score. If you thought Eastern Michigan was a high scoring game, you could be in for a surprise.

This. Akron is abysmal. They should have went 0-12 last year, but Buffalo decided that they just didn't give a shit in the final game last year and handed them a win.

Even with a new QB, the rest of the team is still ungodly bad.
