as the article says (in the Dispatch's next day report) the announced violations/penalties were "preamature". I've not seen anything in any news reports since that have verified exactly what penalties ultimately were levied. Apparently the investigation is still ongoing??

OHSAA has one of their accountants overseeing HP's fiances now. I'm guessing Rod's lawyers have held up the penalties for the time being. He has tens of millions to throw at this thing so it could be a long time before the end result is announced.

I heard that Harvest Prep proved that they did not do many of the things OHSAA said they did. Since OHSAA leaked it to the Dispatch before HP had a chance to respond, if Harvest didn't do it, OHSAA could be in trouble.

Per a Dispatch article published Oct. 5:

Forfeiture of 2010-11 boys basketball season.
No postseason for any sport in 2011-12.
Football, basketball (boys and girls) also banned from postseason in 2012-13.
3 years probation beginning in 2013-14 school year.
$2,500 fine plus $30,000 fee to cover the cost of the investigation.

Apparently expelling them from the OHSAA was on the table but ultimately not chosen.

What becomes of the stats when a teams games are forfeited? The opposing team's as well. I would think the schools would keep them but what does the state say about them if it effects state records?

The only thing they specified was that in football, the other schools will still get their computer points as usual for beating them, but Harvest Prep themselves will be removed from the rankings as of the next week.

Nothing mentioned about any stats for basketball.

I could swear that the other teams keep all their stats. I remember looking in the tourney guide after Africentric forfeited to whoever it was...and all the stats were there other than the final score was 2-0

The Ohio High School Athletic Association slapped Harvest Prep with major penalties today for failing to abide by numerous association regulations and bylaws. The punishments include a ban on postseason play in all sports in 2011-12 and a ban in football and boys and girls basketball in 2012-13.

Harvest Prep will serve three years’ probation beginning with the 2013-14 school year.

Commissioner Dan Ross said the OHSAA considered giving Harvest Prep the “death penalty,” essentially expelling Harvest Prep from the OHSAA. Ross said such action was “a topic’’ during the investigation that lasted approximately seven months.

An administrator inside the school turned in Harvest Prep to the OHSAA last September after seeing that rules and regulations weren’t being abided by. That person was fired by the school last spring.

The penalties, which include the forfeiture of the Division IV boys basketball 2011 district championship and state runner-up trophies, are similar to those first reported in The Dispatch on May 16. However, Ross said the 2008-09 girls basketball season would not have to be forfeited.

The charges against Harvest Prep by the OHSAA include recruiting, changing grades to allow players to remain eligible, not filing proper paperwork on student-athletes who transfer to the school and coaches in numerous sports not having proper certification.

Harvest Prep, a Christian school founded by evangelist Rod Parsley, was fined $2,500 and must pay approximately $30,000 for the cost of the OHSAA investigation that was conducted by a private firm.

The school also is paying the salary of Max Ness, a former administrator from Mentor, New Albany and Wellingtons high schools, to monitor the athletic department from an office inside the school building.

A spokesperson from Harvest Prep said the OHSAA and school signed an agreement that amounted to a compromise so both parties could move on.

Harvest Prep finally gave up and took their punishment. No tourneys for 2 years and OHSAA keeps a administrator at HP to oversee their finances and hopefully their grades also.

As a Hiland fan, makes the DIV win at state that much sweeter. NOBODY would have liked to have gotten the trophy "backing in"--after HP was stripped of it later on. Nice to see some degree of justice prevailed in the whole debacle at Pastor Rod's Place.

hahaha...I just actually heard the other day at work that Rod Parsley was tied into Prep, that should been enough of a giveaway to how crooked it is there.
