No thanks on Texas and their dictatorship approach to joining the Big 10..unless of course they're willing to join the democracy...aka get rid of that longhorn network

I've heard that the guy on the message board is probably way off on Texas. Somebody said that one of the conditions were that if Texas were to keep the Longhorn Network, they wouldn't get a cut of the Big 10 money. That's not going to happen. Texas makes the money from the Longhorn, plus they get Big 12 money. Why on earth would they leave the Big 12 for the Big 10 for that deal? haha.

But I don't think the B1G will just let Texas, or any school, be a bully like they are in the Big 12. Your right, it may not happen, but not because the B1G would try it. Texas would just go elsewhere.

Texas gets 15mil a year out of the LHN + whatever they make out of the Big 12. I think Big 10 schools are set to make close to 26mil a year. It's probably going to be close to the same. I agree that the LHN is something they won't want to kill off, but if the Big 12 is going to fold, or be filled with teams like BYU, Houston, SMU, etc. after other teams leave, you have to think the Big 12 funds will be reduced. They're going to try to work out a deal with the Pac-12 or Big Ten where they can double dip with their LHN. It will be more money than them going independent and ONLY having the LHN.

Mizzou has wanted to join the B1G since the erly 90's

Bringing TCU on is nothing more than a survival move. They financially add nothing (The Big XII already has the Dallas/FW market) but the Big XII has few choices left other than looking at Big East remnants, which still add nothing financially.

Texas knows what's at stake if the Big XII collapses and they don't want to lose it. The B1G, specifically Ohio State and Michigan, would sooner burn down their own campuses than invite Texas to join and conduct themselves in the manner they do in the Big XII. It seems the Pac-12 feels much the same way. Both conferences are just waiting for the Big XII to crash and burn which, if Missouri leaves, is going to be likely. The Big XII television contracts without Missouri would pale in comparison to those being raked in by other conferences. Conferences can't lose media markets and expect bigger TV contracts and the Big XII is out of markets that would add much in revenue. Texas is going to quickly find out that a Texas-centric market won't even benefit Texas.

If Missouri leaves and the Big XII can't be as financially successful as the Pac12, B1G or SEC, Texas' choices and arrogance will both be reduced. They will be reduced even more if the Pac 12 finally gives in and takes Oklahoma/Oklahoma State. When either/or happen, more conference shifting will also start to happen. That's not to say this happens in the near future, but my bet is that it eventually does happen.
