Badass. I know he will have to slump once teams get 'the book' on him, but his potential is exciting.

Good chance Brantley will be out of the lineup again today according to WKNR. Brantley is, I believe, 6 for 13 lifetime against Verlander.

Damn. I don't think yesterday's game could have gone much better. Today is will determine if this is a good or great series for the tribe. I think they are playing much better baseball in August finally as we have had opportunities to win every game. It also seems like the attitude and composer of the players has become more positive. Lets keep it going.

Sounds like a lingering issue with his wrist.

No x-rays were needed. Id assume he will have a big old bruise on his foot from the HBP, but he wont be out wit injury. Maybe out with discomfort with the tender bruise, but it isnt like a broken bone, or ligament or anything serious. That said, no way he misses Detroit and Verlander due to a bruise imo.

They may be facing Verlander but they DO have two things in their favor....1) they OWN Detroit at home winning 13 in a row at Progressive Field and 2) today's game is NOT a "businessman's special." ;)

Verlander may not have a stellar record against the Tribe, but the guy is having a Cy Young season. He scares me.

I'm not conceding anything, but we already are assured of winning at least two out of three so no matter what happens tonight it has been a successful series against the Tigers.

GO TRIBE!

I'm never optimistic and I have the old Butch Davis "gut feeling" that they are somehow going to win this one. They may not hand an "L" to Verlander but I think they will get it done late.

Glory Days;858405 wrote:was he? from looking at his history he really didnt play one position(OF, 3B, 1B, 2B) more than any other until about 2008.

He played 444 games in the minors...

He had 2, that's 2 starts at 1B.

315 starts at C.

I'm sorry I didn't know he had played some games in the OF and 3B before joining the Tribe via trade, but those starts look like they were trying to figure out a position for him.

However, that's still irrelevant to my original point that he's learning first base on the fly, because even in the minors he only had two starts at 1B.

Santana is definitely still learning to play 1st base, as evidence by his stretching too soon on the throw from AC. But I think it will be his best position for now. Marson is so much better behind the plate.

I would also think Druby will be in the line up tonight, unless he can't walk. It would be hard to keep him out of this one.

Hope to see the same Fausto we've seen since he's come back from the DL. He is getting closer and closer to 2007 form.
