Thuggery. The arrest count at UF under Meyer would be too much (not in my eyes, but in response to your question) for a program still trying to repair it's reputation.

If Meyer were to come to OSU I'd be doing backflips (unless of course Fickell pans out).

In Tressel's first ~ 5 years, didn't tOSU have about 26 arrests? That's a pretty close track record. Take into account most of UF's were Zook's recruits and most UF arrests were bogus and dropped. Carl Johnson was 100% innocent but missed games because of a psycho ex gf making up lies. The legit ones were disciplined by Meyer. Do you think Tressel would have suspended Cam Newton? ha

The investigation found seven Ohio State football players who had some sort of criminal record.
That tied OSU with Oregon, USC and Florida as the teams that ranked 11th highest among the nation's top college football programs.

As I mentioned, I'm wondering if the people who would go to that extreme (renouncing their allegiance to OSU) actually personally know the guy or base their perception off a couple things they saw on TV that may or may not accurately represent the real person. You know, kind of like if they turn on a TV these days they'd see Jim Tressel being portrayed as a charade?
Meyer's wife is from my area, and I know quite a few people that are friends of her family. Most all of them say Meyer is an arrogant guy that looks down on other people. That combined with the way he treats media if they don't agree with everything he or his players say, are the reasons I would rather not have Meyer in Columbus. With that being said, I expect Fickell to get the job done, so we won't have to worry about it.

No. OSU is too ingrained in me to not be a fan of my alma mater.

I would not be a fan of the coach, however...unless he changed from being a narcissistic doooosh.

I was not a John Cooper fan, am now lukewarm on Tressel and am not a fan of Terrell Pryor. Just becaise they play or coach for Ohio State does not make me an automatic, blinders-on fan of them.

But I am a fan of my University and of its programs.

I get that. The one guy said he would sell all his OSU gear, presumably meaning he would no longer be a fan. Most people don't have to like everyone involved in a program to like the program and I certainly understand some of the negative perceptions about Meyer (some I share, some I don't). I don't understand why any of the common complaints about him would cause someone to go so far as to suddenly find a new team, which is why I asked originally.

I was that guy. Urban Meyer is an ass and if the Bucks hire him, I will find someone else to root for. 2 questions
1. Why do you care so much?
2. Shouldn't this be normal to someone who refuses to choose a favorite team so they hop on whatever bandwagon they want?

To answer your questions:
1. Just interested, it isn't life or death to me.
2. It doesn't make a difference to me and I didn't say it was abnormal, but I'm not sure what you mean by "refuses to choose a favorite team".

I'm still interested to know what it is, specifically, that makes you hate Meyer so much that you'd drop your team.

speedo, you and cgw were called out for deleting posts on another thread a while back, so your reputation preceeds you--and btw, you need more than a 5th grade edumication to know a "good piece of journalism" :o

Now who's lying? Your selective memory is quite convenient. By the way, I certainly don't have to defend my posts to you, since you're known here on OC for not only trolling, but for being intellectually challenged as well.

Anything else?
