I was unimpressed by Arroyo's attempts to get runs in from 3rd twice tonight by putting batted ground balls less than 40' from home plate.

doesn't the ball almost always bounce toward center when it hits the wall in the gap? You learn that playing pong.

Kelch can't even read the stat right. He said that the Paredes triple was the first Astro triple by a player in his first MLB plate appearance. On the radio, they said that there was another player who walked their first appearance and hit a triple in his first AB.

More often for sure than a ball that bounces upward when it hits a yard from the top of the fence.

Kelch is better than George Grande talking about the Crawford Boxes and touching himself.

So both of those are correct. I doubt they get their info from the same people.mhs95_06;848893 wrote:Kelch can't even read the stat right. I would have tried a bunt with two strikes. They were playing him pretty deep. Especially at 1stI was unimpressed by Arroyo's attempts to get runs in from 3rd twice tonight by putting batted ground balls less than 40' from home plate.

And again BP looks bad early and then gets a 2 strike single to CF. Loads the bases with no out.

I just don't understand why he wastes those 2 strikes? Yes he adjusts well but what is his purpose on his first 2 strikes?

Alonso has really nice discipline at the plate, much like Cozart.

No Kelch was wrong - Paredes was the 2nd Astro to get a triple in his first AB.

And how long until it will be ruined for both of them by the major league staff?

plate appearance and at bat are different things. If he said what you wrote originally then he was correct. So was Marty/Cowboy.mhs95_06;848928 wrote:No Kelch was wrong - Paredes was the 2nd Astro to get a triple in his first AB.

You are correct, I wrote it wrong. Kelch said first MLB AB.

Carpenter got roughed up, 6 straight hits. Brewers up 5-2 and still batting.
