Go look at who started in the Super Bowl for the Packers and Steelers. The only guy in that group that scares people was Charles Woodson. The other starters were: Tramon Williams, Ike Taylor, and Bryan McFadden.

However what do these two teams have in common? A scary front 7 who can rush the QB.

First of all I said defensive back, that doesn't limit to just CBs. Like I said stick to your other sports.

Im not arguing that a front 7 isn't important, because they definitely are, the point is, it is ok to spend money on DBs with the physicality in the NFL decreasing. I know you like to spin shit, by my god, you took one small sample (the packers) to try and make your argument. Did you forget about Troy Polamalu? You are acting like the Jets failed with their defensive backfield because they didn't win the SB. You do realize only one team wins it a year right? If you take a look at all 4 teams who were in the conference championship 3/4 had a pretty legit secondary or at least a legit player on the secondary. Take a look at the DPOY. In the last 4 years 3 of the winners have been dbs. As i said before, it is ok to spend money on dbs, especially in a pass heavy league.

I was talking about how it is stupid to wrap up a ton of cap space into 3 CBs. Especially when you consider that the teams in the Super Bowl didn't build their teams at the from the CB position out. Woodson is big time CB, but Tramon Williams is just a good player. (He was added to Pro Bowl roster when Asante Samuel pulled out with an injury). It is usually easier to talk about who didn't make the Pro Bowl, than who did. By the time everybody who is injured / and those who are feigning injury step aside, the Pro Bowl roster is massive. Tons of guys are there who wouldn't ordinarily be there. Williams is good, but he doesn't scare anybody and doesn't sell newspapers like this group for the Eagles will.

"haha" The fact of the matter is I talked about DBs and you still are limiting the discussion to CBs and trying to spin a pro bowl caliber player into "he isn't really that good." LMAO gtfo. Just admit you were wrong in your argument. You brought up the SB champion Packers' secondary, and 3 of the 4 starters on their secondary are pro bowlers. If you limit it to CBs, since thats what you think DBs are, then both of their CBs were pro bowl players. You can spin it all you like and try to say Williams isn't that good, because he was an alternate choice, but that is still a hell of a lot better than most CBs can say.

I guess those 2 interceptions the Packers had in the SB (one done by a pro bowler) didn't mean shit. I just said that declaring somebody to be an awesome player because they were named to the Pro Bowl was kind of silly because pretty much anybody who is a somebody drops out of the Pro Bowl and their spot needs to be replaced. I mean heck, Matt Cassel went to the Pro Bowl last year as an alternate.

Well since you don't know what a DB is I'll cut you some slack. You see the steelers knowing that they have a DPOY in Polamalu on their team, who is highly versatile, move him all over the field. He moves inside the box, plays the center field of the defense etc... Ryan Clark is a solid DB but not the caliber that Polamalu is. While Clark might be penciled in the depth chart as a FS he really plays more of the SS position with Polamalu ranging around, free lancing etc... The steelers are a special case and I dont really know of any other defense that can play like that (or have the Def Coord that Dick Lebeau is) thus enabling him to get the most of Polamalu etc... The Lbers, and Polamalu allow the CBs to only be adequate. I wouldn't expect a numbskull like you to be able to comprehend that or use the critical thinking to see that Polamalu is a special case and really plays all over the field as a safety. lol you probably got all giddy when you looked up the steelers depth chart to see Clark penciled in as the FA and thought "haha I got him now! I'm such a fucking dipshit that I'll ignore his whole argument and try and squabble over a typo!" SMH

Jim Brown was listed as a fullback
same with mike alstott
