I'm kinda in the same boat, i'm one of 10. We'd always go camping or to amusement parks. My grandfather owns a beach house in Ocean City, so that would be our really only "true" vacation.

My wife gets along with my family well and I do with hers but I couldn't imagine being stuck anywhere with one of her aunts.

Pretty much the same here. As kids we took some..smokey mountains, florida, but for the most part it was camping somewhere within 2 hours.

Just could not afford to go on "real" vacations, and with baseball and all 5 of us kids schedules it was tough. My parents were very responsible in knowing what we could do.

WIsh my wife was the same. For some reason she was insistant on taking a family vacation for 9-10days with her 3 kids. Mind you that we just bought a house, she works like 5-6 hours a week and my job isnt that great, but by God we gotta trounce from Ohio to Florida and stop 10 times in between at sites on a vacation we, or should I say I, cannot afford.
