I am currently on vacation at the beach. Sure, it's NJ but it's still the beach. The unfortunate thing is that it is a family vacation with a shit ton of in-laws. Not that I dislike my in-laws or anything, I've really lucked out in that department. Still, family vacations kinda suck when there are a ton of kids running around and none of them are yours and a majority of the vacation revolves around entertaining the kids. Ok, I'm done whining.

The kids can kill it for sure. I don't like goign with anyone really. I want it to be VACATION,,not let's comprimise everything we do becasue who we are with.

I'll pray for you that enjoy the rest of your vacation immensly.

My family has never gone on a true vacation. I have 5 brothers and a sister and my parents could never afford to take us all. We would go camping or go to Cedar Point each summer but that was about it.

My brother in Arizona and his wife actually brought up us taking an actual family vacation next year so we are trying to put it together right now. I have a feeling there will be a few people that won't be able to make it (money, scheduling conflict, etc) but I am hoping we can make it work.

I don't think vacation would be as enjoyable, for me, if my nieces and nephew weren't there. However, they don't dictate what we do. Everyone knows that they are free to go off and do whatever they want to do. Nobody makes plans for anyone else.

I guess I'm just used to vacation being just me and my wife relaxing on the beach or whatever. This vacation also allows for no sexy time. Which sucks.

I think it all depends where ya go. I feel ya about having tons of kids around killing the fun.

Went to a lake for a few days.....about 10 kids there. I enjoyed that much more than the beach in florida with only three though. I would rather have a cabin, or tent/camper, and fish and boat and swim and hang out in a non commerialized zoo than a place like a panama city beach.

I come home refreshed from spending a week at the lake with the full family of 10 kids and 12 adults than I did at a beach in a tourist trap area.

We were gonna stop by New Jersey on our way from Ohio to Florida but decided to just pass through instead. (brilliant 19 yr old step daughter was dead serious on asking if we could stop on NJ on our way to Florida from ohio. Its by Alabama right?

That is why I only do adult only vacations. I don't have kids, don't want kids, and am not joining kids on my vacation!!
