Clearly. But our dogs are members of our family and we treat them as such. Same goes for most other pet owners I know.

I love dogs. Note: little shit "dogs," however, are not dogs but are rats. And I tend to shy aware from rots and doberman pinschers, but if they are friendly then I'm okay.

I agree about the little shit dogs. I don't mind rots and dobermans, but I do not like pitbulls.

Definitely Dog People at the Chateau Du Cat Food - we have three dogs of our own ( a Black Lab mix and a couple of Cavalier King Charles spaniels).

That said, I don't care for situations in which people who don't keep dogs in their place - either way. My Dad has a chihuahua mix that is absolutely insufferable because he won't control her - she'll jump up on people and furniture, wets anywhere she wants, and barks that anything that moves. As for people who keep dogs with a proven record of individual aggressive behavior (not just a "breed pattern") - my thought is that they have a four-footed time bomb wandering around the house primarily to feed their "lion-tamer" self-image.

I like dogs, even after being bit in the face by one when I was little. I'm always cautious for the first couple seconds to see the demeanor of the dog, but after that I am fine.

I like dogs when they are mine. It really annoys me when dog owners think THEIR dog is so sweet and innocent, and by the time you get to the doorstep, they are circling you like Jaws and sniffing your crotch, waiting for your to look scared.

As soon as you look scared the begin to snarl. Then some curly headed ****, dog owner, tells you he's okay. He gives a half hearted attempted to shoo him away "get killer get" -- he continues to snarl. Finally, he starts to back off, but the whole time he stares at you while you are a guest.

On the way out you then step in dog ***t.

My daughter (5) has the luxury of having a very gentle Chocolate lab that she can hang on, sleep on, lean on, tug on, and he simply wags his tail and takes it like a lab. This is a slight concern because we have to teach her to ask a dog owner if ti is OK to pet their pooch.

I love all dogs, but the large breed dogs (Sheps, dobies, pit bulls. etc) do get my attention when I am not familiar with the animal. Makes sense to be a little cautious in an unfamiliar environment.

I have three dogs. One is a sixty pound black mutt (mom was part lab, part chow and part rot. They had no idea what the dad was.) One is a rat terrier mix. And one that is a chihuahua mix. I never imagined I would own a chihuahua, but we went to the humane society to get a dog for my wife's birthday and she was the sweetest little thing.

Love dogs. Have two, and can't imagine a time where we would not have a dog in the future.

I tried having dogs as a kid, but I was allergic to them. I got my current Mutt back in 1999. My Girlfriend at the time wanted a dog. I tried to talk her out of it. I came home one day and there was Lucy. We broke up 6 months later then all of a sudden she didn't have time for the dog and threatened to take it back to the pound. I took the dog and she's been a wonderful pet.

Lucy Mutt the reason I met my current Wife, as the neighbors were having a party and wanted to meet The Mutt. The Wife just happened to be attending their party and that was that.

Not really. Too loud and annoying, takes too much work. Small dogs are the worst, tiny little yapping things.

As a kid I didn't like dogs. The farm next to us had a couple big dogs that I thought were mean. I honestly have no idea if they reallly were or if that was just my fear.
When I met my wife, she was a bigtime dog lover. I decided after we got engaged to get a dog. We got an American bulldog and it was by far the best decision we have made. Hes an amazing dog!! Can't wait to get him to the island in September. These last 2 months without him have been tough!!

Love them. We always had them when I was growing up, but with four kids we were never home enough to have a dog. After the first 3 kids left home and our life settled down, we got a puppy just over a year ago. I cannot imagine my life without him now. He is very friendly, except when someone comes onto our property (He's a 10 lb. JRT but thinks he's a 90 lb. pitt). But once he sees we are ok with the person, he's fine. I always tell any little kids that come to our house to just put their hand out and let him come to them. Little kids have a tendency to want to pick him up cuz he's so little and cute.

I have a friend that was in mourning for around 6 months when their dog died. Then at the bar one night I asked if they were going to get a new dog and he said they weren't ready yet. I said, "you still haven't gotten over it?" The response, "when a person dies you don't just get over it." Yeah, when a PERSON dies, this was a ****ing dog!!!!! He didn't like that response.
