They always add a third catcher, so they will have to add Mes or Corky (better be Mes) so unless some cuts are made spots are limited.

Someone on twitter said they saw Volquez give the worst effort they have ever seen on the AAA level the other day. Didn't even attempt to field a ground ball?
We know how Cincinnatians are loyal to Rose, Freel, Rosales and are down on talent that doesn't show visible effort (Dunn, Encarnacion, Volquez)
I hope not, but with fans at least days in Cincinnati may be numbered, despite his unbelievable ability.

I think the Reds are probably very willing to try to package Volquez at the trade deadline. Seems like his head will never catch up w/ his talent.

Must have had all but one of the hits in one inning, or one or two HRs, or some HBPs. But very good on the strike % and pitches per inning!

Will Dusty use Coco in the 9th? I would say it's almost a given!

You think when the Rangers want to trick a team into a bad trade, they say, "Lets try to Volquez them!"?

Braves going to play baseball here, bunt Gonzo to 2nd. Then let McClouth single in the winning run.

There's a 2% chance I can scrounge up some money tomorrow morning...ill let you know if that's the case.

Only way I could have gone is if my boss could have gotten us free tix from his guy but he couldn't do it.

Wrong! And Masset's woes on the first hitter he faces continues.

Volquez finished it, 3 Ks and 1 single in the 9th

110 pitches, 82 strikes

pretty impressive to go all the way in this heat and also to pound the zone and still only give up 5 hits. 0 walks.

Sad note, I will be leaving for work in California for the rest of the summer and will not be able to enjoy these couch sessions with fellow reds fans.

It will be a great thing to put this team away for a while. Hopefully when I return in September they are ready to clinch.

Hopefully this just adds to his trade value.

Looks like Masset is going to take his chances with Prado instead of Uggla.

agreed

only way I want him back is if they decide to give up on the year and sell, and shut BA down.

Eh, I'd take Wood at that point.
