Stubbs jumped too high and turned it into a HR. Neither he nor Nix are very good at the wall/fence!

That's a joke of a HR. If chapman throws every pitch down the middle he won't be touched. Could finish the game with 21 strikes.

Stubbs :1847 PA, .269, .364, .401, .765 23.4% K
Sappelt: 1716 PA, .307, .361, .461, .822 13.2% K

There's no way if you have seen Sappelt play a decent amount you can say you don't think he can make it.

Sure you can! History is littered with many who did well in the minors and couldn't hack it in the majors.

Huh? I would like to see how far Heyward could hit one of those fastballs if he could catch up to it.

My only argument can be, when playing in garbage time players can make quite an impression. Once the league has a scout on you (ala Stubbs and struggles on balls low and in) you get fed that pitch till you choke on it.

Sappelt is a good player no doubt, I hope he gets a shot. I just don't see top of the order type of at bats from him. He isn't very patient and doesn't make great contact on balls away from him. I have only seen 30-40 live abs from him and many of the ground balls he beat out to 3rd would be outs in the major leagues. I do like his energy however, and think it would be a huge shot in the arm to the club if he were to come up. He plays the game very fast. Puts pressure on defenses immediately.

I agree with that.

Hey justin can't make it to Yankees game this Sunday...had to spend my weekend money on AC...its fuckin hot

There's a 2% chance I can scrounge up some money tomorrow morning...ill let you know if that's the case.

Only way I could have gone is if my boss could have gotten us free tix from his guy but he couldn't do it.

anyone want 2 free tix for tomorrow's game? They are just $5 seats but it gets you in. You would have to pick em up in Mason or somewhere close by.

Yeah I didn't word that right, just talking about comparing him to current options on the team.

Arroyo was a Stubbs' wrist away from 7 complete and a 4-3 lead, and a probable trip to the 9th for the win giving Coco another save chance with the way Chapman is throwing to the lefties, although he got a great gift on the strike 2 call to Heyward.

When rosters expand, i would like to think Dave Sappelt will be on the club and for two weeks, regardless of the Reds position in the standings he will be a factor.

If Cozart can extend this inning to Votto, Joey will get the job done.

Probably not because he's not on the 40man. Not sure if they have to put him on anyway in the offseason, but if they don't then I doubt he's up. Guys like Alonso, Hermida, Francisco will be back.

Cozart had no chance on the 3-2 slider. His best chance was the 3-1 94 mph fastball, but was right on the outside edge and he couldn't catch up to it.

I would hope they would move Sappelt to the 40 man, not sure what that would do for his option?

Don't think I want to see him again for awhile, but if Arroyo ever gets DL'ed Volquez 8IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 6 K, 0 BB, 92 pitches 69 strikes
