I wouldn't give up Slider for BJ Upton. That guy is a human cancer cell.

The defense wasted another great start from Masterson and the offense still can't figure out that vaunted White Sox pitching staff.
And one more thing....the Oakland first baseman that you refer to is in the minore now. The new guy is hitting 20 points higher than LaPorta.

How exactly do Cleveland sports teams dumb me down? Just because I don't think every player on our team is awful I'm not objective? Believe it or not you can have positive opinions of players without being a homer.

Look I'm frustrated right now after wasting this great outing from Masterson again. I think the fact that Acta continues to send OC out there is a much more egregious offense then LaPorta starting at first, especially right after we brought Kipnis up. If they are afraid OC will pout and bring down clubhouse morale if he sits then I say cut is ass and go forward with what we've got. There's no room in the major leagues for an over the hill veteran who is playing terribly to act that way. At this point I don't care how much Asdrubal and the other guys like him. You want to talk about worst player in the league at his position, Orlando is the worst 2B in the AL and it's not even close. He's got to realize the best thing for this club is for him to let Kipnis play and be a utility guy for the time being.

There is no way to have a positive opinion about LaPorta without being a homer. He is awful. I'd almost rather move Santana to 1st and play Marson full time at catcher at this point just to get his ass off of the field.

I had to look up their depth charts to see who their respective tandems were. Holy crap are those two teams terrible on offense.

Players with over 200AB's + hitting over .250
Oakland- 2/9(of those 9, Crisp at .268 leads the team)
Seattle- 3/7 (of those 7, Ichiro leads with a .266 average)

Horrible.

Conor Jackson? .222 while playing 1B.

....
I've got no problem with going after those guys but that ain't really "trying" in my book. It's just a token effort to appease the fans and media. If anything can happen it can happen with the guys they've got. Adding those two isn't going to increase the chances very much of "anything happening".

When this team is a legitimate threat I consider "trying" going after the big names that are available and selling out to do whatever you can to take a shot. This team is nowhere near that point but certainly closer than last year.

I agree with you on OCab. Completely. You're not the only one frustrated around here. I also suffer from Clevelandsportsitis. But for a lot longer period than you.

Acta gave away a first inning run today....the only earned run allowed. I don'r care if it's the first inning...a guy on 3rd with one out, you should never have the infield playing back...in a scoreless game. Sure enough, Masterson made a great pitch and Konerko rolled out to short...scoring the run.

Carrero is either really nervous in the field, or else can't judge fly balls. Today's unreal gaffe was not the first time he has looked scared out there. As for LaPorta, SMH. A first baseman should hit 290 and pound out 20 homers a year....good God even Garko did those things in 06 and 07.

I mean...just look inside the shiddy Central.. Tou have Cabrera, Konerko and Cuddyer...all pounding 300 with multi dingers. Even Hoesma from KC is smackin the ball.

As for Santana....he needs to improve behind the plate and with his scatter arm. He's young, but for now, I grade him as a C minus player. We also have a problem at third. I see an annual 250 hitter with 12-15 homers...and 20-25 errors. He's young, so he has an opportunity to prove me wrong. I jusr never get really excired about people who hit 270 in triple A and double A ball.

Our outfield has one proven stud....and he's on the DL...and I don't mean Sizemore either.

People want us to trade away other prospects for the likes of BJ Upton. Why?

I would rather the tribe play the kids for the rest of the season as opposed to stop gapping with crappy, rented bats.

Yesterday's outcome was sickening. It looks as though this team is done, and Haren and Weaver coming to town doesn't help.

Gotta hope The Browns start up soon.

There are 3 series right now that I look back at and think will ultimately do us in. The Toronto series before the ASB where we won the first on a walk-off, but then proceeded to lose the next 3.

Then the 4 game series against Baltimore and Minny where we won the first two and lost the last two.

This....but I'll LMAO if they finish one game out and the front office does nothing by 7/31.

The way this team hits and plays defense, they will be lucky to finish 1 game out of last.

Sad but true. My question now is "will they finish over .500?"

I suspect the front office will make a/some token move(s), something similar to what you listed above.

As the old saying goes on a 3-2 pitch..."The string is out".

My question is: will the Tribe be over .500 on August 1?

Who dares to start the next "sucky" thread?
