Yeah, it sucks for him to go to Chivas...I agree. But, he'd be in LA right? It's a big market and executives want those big markets to succeed. I don't know how much pine he's riding in Turkey, he's been solid for them for the most part.

Haven't seen Donovan play like that in quite some time? Have you been watching much him alately? I've been rather critical of him for most of his career and since the last WC my opinion has changed lately. I've been pleased with his play all over from the US team, to Everton and back to the MLS. He is no doubt our best player.

ESPNews and ESPN3 aren't always available at places. That was the problem.

I watch every USMNT game I can. I have never been a huge fan of Landycakes. But, he played at a tempo he hasn't played at in quite some time. He's been a solid contributor, absolutely, but he just dictated the pace [in the 2nd half] -- when was the last time the USMNT did that (the only time I remember a high tempo game was the first half against Canada to open the Gold Cup play this year, outside of that it's been a long time)? I would venture to say that Dempsey could give Landy a run for "best player." Dempsey has performed fantastically in the World Cup and Gold Cup (although he did fail to finish when we wanted him to). If Landy is not playing well, we don't see it quite as much as if Dempsey is not playing well -- mainly because Dempsey often plays in the middle of the field. We've traditionally used the middle of the field more than the flanks (where Landy has been playing).

New Chelsea third kit:

New Real Madrid third kit:

I am starting to despise adidas' decisions on kits. They have been atrocious. This Chelsea one is better than the "checkerboard" one. And Real Madrid in roja?! Por que?!

Chelseas are pretty sick. Reals are retarded. I bet those players are pissed. I bet they were them like twice all year. They are "All Whites" about 85% of their matches anyway.

Actually I would say that the last Confed Cup is where I noticed Donovan actually having something between his legs. I agree about the wings though, he is at his best out wide. We he has the freedom to bomb up and down the side he is very dangerous. You could make an argument for Dempsey or Donovan over who is the best, but like Donovan, I've seen Dempsey disappear from time to time.....including the GC final.

I'm curious to see how Klinnsman moves forward with the formation, especially when we have our full A squad....Holden, Jozy, Deuce, etc. Screw that lone striker BS...get that out of here.

I hope we see more of the 4-4-2, with Agudelo and Jozy up front.

The checkerboard one is straight outta 1987. AOL, here we come. Wave of the future. Tron and shit.

Inter's are class.

That's the English national team's away goalkeeper shirt. It could be the ugliest soccer top EVER!

Nike has been hit or miss recently. In my opinion, mostly miss.

adidas has also been hit or miss recently. They have probably missed more times than not too.

I just am not a fan of all these "radical" and "flashy" kits/boots. Isn't there a way to simplify everything? Make them a little more classy? Inter's is a prime example of that. Bayern Munich would be another. I am a traditionalist in terms of sticking with the "original" colors (may not be original to the team, but it's now become their original -- i.e., Liverpool in all red). I understand a "different" third kit...but c'mon!

Eff Nike and Phil Knight. Not even gonna bother going into details.
___
USA ties Mexico. A lot of standing around for USA?
I like the new USA coach being honest, said Americans are nowhere close to winning the world cup.

How long will be stay as coach of team USA?

He'll be the coach through at least 2014. Did you watch the 2nd half of the game? Things got much better. I expect, given more time, you'll see a lot more "last 20 minutes" and a lot less "first 20 minutes"

No Owen Hargreaves to the MLS (unfortunately) -- he's probably going to end up with West Bromwich Albion.

New MLS team to...Henderson, Nevada (outside of Las Vegas)?! Bad move, in my opinion. Start putting these stadiums where people ARE. Take a hint from other stadiums who are in the middle of nowhere (FC Dallas, Chicago Fire, maybe even Columbus Crew)...it's not a good idea.

Well, Man United start off the season how Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea can't...with a WIN!!! GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED!!!

Crew game was fun last night. I only managed 2 brats, my buddy had 4. Crew were down 1-0 at half, stormed back with 3 in the second. Good game. Good fun. Poor turnout from fans.

I expect the 8/20 game to be a bit better...it's "Back to School Night." I believe they are really marketing it toward bringing a lot of high schoolers in.

Looks like Robbie Keane was signed by the LA Galaxy as a designated player or whatever they're called, with Juan Pablo Angel heading to Philadelphia.
