Also, posting that vid as your "favorite" is weaksauce. Like players make 100% of their penalties?

I could show you hundreds of amazing Messi vids where he's making one defender after another look like they're wearing concrete shoes.

Messi is probably going to be the best ever. Granted the World Player of the Year isnt an award that has been around for 100 years, but he is ALREADY the first player to ever win 4, and he is 25. The coming up WC will be the first WC where he is in his prime. Its hysterical that people are actually judging him off of ONE WC appearance...in which he played tremendously well if you watched.

2 WCs ago, 2006, he came off the bench for Argentina. He was still a youngster at that time. I wouldnt say its a failure when an 18 year old doesnt lead his country to the title lol.

Also, I used those matches because other than Chelsea last year and 3 years ago it was the only EPL matches that I could think of off the top of my head. They also beat Chelsea the first time around...

It's not like he's just jumping into a similar system with Argentina either.

I'm not that familiar with their style, but I remember hearing tons of criticism about the manager not molding their strategy around Messi.

Maradona was a disaster. He had Messi playing a position he had never played before. The attacking mid/f. Basically, positioned in the middle, right behind Aguero and Tevez (who started most of the games). He had never played anywhere but outside for Barca, and Argentina didnt get him involved near midfield for him to run at defenders the way Barca does. They preferred to bring the ball up slower and he wouldnt touch it till the 18 yard box.

Barca has since molded him into a CF, but in their system, all attacking players move all over. I think Argentina will be poised to make a big time run in 2014. Their new manager is utilizing Messi correctly, which is why he scored so much last year for them (most ever in a year).

Wow. Moussa Dembele with a great first touch and strike from distance to advance Tottenham past Lyon 3-2 on aggregate. 1-1 today. Lyon had the away goals advantage if it had ended 2-2 on aggregate. Dembele scored in the 88th or 89th minute.

They advance to the final 8 of the Europa League and will face Inter Milan (what a shit draw...Lyon then Inter) in the next round.

Was it? lol. I was watching, but I was too focused after the goal to look at the time until they resumed play after the replays. I figured more than a minute had gone by so I guessed lol.

Serious question...is anyone in England better than Gareth Bale right now? Just scored again to give Spurs a 1-0 lead at West Ham. If they win, they move 2 pts ahead of Chelsea after 27 matches (11 to play) after The Blues were beaten by Man City this weekend. Also would see them move 4 clear of Arsenal who is in 5th chasing that last CL spot from the EPL.

Man, the Crew got hammered by a small survey that was done by SI and Grant Wahl.
If there was one coach you would not want to play for, who would it be?
1. Schellas Hyndman, Dallas; José Luis Sánchez Solá, Chivas USA (three votes)
3. Robert Warzycha, Columbus (two votes)

If there was one MLS team you would not want to play for, what would it be?
1. Columbus (five votes)
2. Chivas USA, Toronto (three votes)
4. Dallas (two votes)

Which team has the worst MLS stadium atmosphere?
1. Dallas (six votes)
2. New England (four votes)
3. Chivas USA, Columbus, D.C. United (two votes)

Real advanced. Barca mightve fucked themselves by gettng up 16 pts in La Liga so early. Kinda of stopped playing hard/well and now are out of the Copa Del Rey and about to be out of the UCL.

igured this was coming. It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out with regards to domestic seasons and the transfer window. Personally, I really don't want to see them move the world cup to the winter, but they got to do what's best for the players.

In addition, it'll be interesting to see when they place it in the winter as World Cup years coincide with the Winter Olympics.

I'm not against a move to the winter. The downside is, hosting a World Cup in the States again could be challenging.

There's a lot of thought and consideration across the world in looking more closely at the calendar that MLS has. It only makes sense, honestly. European countries don't like the winter weather games much. Some take a hiatus in the middle of the season. I could imagine there'll be some leagues seriously investigating a move to a March-November calendar.

Oh, we haven't mentioned the new centennial kit either...not bad. Would've liked to see navy shorts. Crest sure beats the flying ball...

I think that the problem with moving it to the Winter is whether it will cause a permanent change in the structure of the season. Will a high-profile league such as the EPL take an eight-week hiatus in the middle of the season? Or, will they go to a March-November calendar as you said?

They would only move to a March-November calendar if the World Cup makes a permanent shift to the winter, I think. Doing just one season in that format would cause too many troubles. The problem is whether having a winter World Cup prevent the European countries from hosting? You said that they don't like the winter games, as is. Could you imagine a totally winter UK World Cup? The problem with the hiatus is that many clubs will be wary to have their players in an eight-week hiatus in the middle of season for injury concerns.

I would have no clue what they would do, just throwing out my thoughts.
