I'm about as cheap as they come. If I spend money on something, I'm going to get my moneys worth. With that being said, if you don't like something, you don't like something. I'm not going to sit there and force myself to eat something just because I paid for it.
If it was a special request (i.e., not on the menu), then there's nothing you can really do about it. You can't expect someone to make something that they don't have on their menu. However, if I ordered something that was on their menu, then I would simple comment "I don't care for this... can I please try something else?"

well i went to steak and shake...and the b1tch forgot my fixxings for my burger set....AND didnt bring me silverware...when i asked for silverware (for my cheesy fries) i got plastic ware.......!!! SMH.. When I asked why, the waitress said they were behind on dishes and out of silverware. Can you believe I had to eat my cheesy fries with a plastic fork....WTF

If its meat, and is completely butchered to how I ordered it. Well done versus Rare or something I will send it back. If they dont take stuff back I will eat it and leave minimal tip (I always feel bad since the waiter had no part). If it is something I thought I would like and didnt, I will eat enough to get a meal in me, but not finish it. Then again, if Im paying for food at a restaurant, Im not ordering something I know Im not gonna like.

On top of the plastic fork, my side by side choco-banana shake had was more milk than shake....so i couldnt eat it with a spoon....wish i woulda asked for some damn hummus....maybe they woulda got that right
