Rolen would have had that foul pop in a close game!

Rolen is garbage. I love the guy, but he's basically what Janish is at SS. He can make all the plays he can get to, but with his limited range and no bat he's worthless. Pitchers just go right at him and wait for a grounder or lazy fly ball. He might hit an occasional double or homer but he's basically a singles hitter who can't draw walks.

Offensively I agree with your anger....I disagree on your defensive analysis.

Talk about being worthless.

Stubbs is a joke at the plate right now.

Stubbs was out after the second strike. You could tell he was more worried about the umpire.

I wouldn't say Scott is garbage, he is just done. He has not been 100% in a couple years and he is just way past his prime. Time for him to hang up the cleats and go to work in radio

I'm not saying anything that hasn't been said before, but I think you could cart my old, out of shape arse out there and my strike out ration couldn't be any worse than Stubbs.

It's amazing how great I felt about this team and the rest of the system after last year/going into this year and how bad I feel about it now.

Arroyo has been craptastic this year. Volquez has been pitiful. Homer still has great stuff but can't stay healthy. Wood got beat around pretty good before catching a bus to AAA. And Chapman is so up and down right now in his career. So basically we have Cueto and Leake who we can count on and Bailey when he's healthy. Starting pitching doesn't look as deep now as it used to.

Rolen is about done at 3B. Soon will begin the days of Juan Francisco playing 3B and striking out 180 times a year and playing very erratic defense. Might as well just have Edwin Encarnacion back.

Our SS situation is horrendous. At least we have Cozart in AAA but who knows when he'll ever get a chance. The way it's going this year, it'll take Janish and Renteria both hitting the DL at the same time.

Alonso is a major league-ready hitter but will probably be dealt before he contributes regularly with the big club.

Phillips is probably gone whenever his contract is up, which is very soon. Votto is going to be 28 and his contract his up in 2 years.

How about we trade our manager and coaching staff to Arizona for theirs, with maybe the exception of Bryan Price. Seems like they play more smart baseball and are over achieving in wins, while the Reds under achieve and don't play smart, especially on their hitting mind-set. Or probably just Baker and Jacoby for Gibson and Baylor would do the trick.

Jesus Christ Charlie children the hell out...we ve hit a rough spot in the season...the organization is still set up to succeed in the.short and long term. Amazing because we wouldn't be hearing any of this if the reds won tonight...one game makes all the difference to some fans

I gave up on this team tonight. Season is a grind, and their performance has not contributed any happiness to my life. I wish them the best, and hope they turn things around. I just know I don't have the energy to get hyped up to see it anymore. Sadly the next sporting season is Duke football and Bengal football. Someone kill me please.

One game? They are 18-27 over the last nearly 2 months and are probably the only team in mlb that hasn't made a move to try to improve. This stretch here has always been looked at as do or die.

One game meaning if they won tonight no one would be saying what they're saying, then if they lost tomorrow's game everyone would be saying all this.negative stuff again. They haven't made any moves because this is the same team that won the central last year so obviously Walt is just letting them find the groove they were on last year...he's probably starting to see it is gettin a little late in the season, I'm sure the correct moves will be made soon. Its not like Walt has a history for not bringing up minor leaguers. For Christ sake he had leake skip all of minor leagues..Smith was brought up last year from AA. Walt knows what he's doing and he knows what he has.

Dusty, Walt, and the rest of the staff were meeting after the game last night, according to Fay.

I have absolutely zero faith in this team at this point. No one seems to care that the team has been below mediocre for the better part of 2 months. Walt continues to sit on his hands while we got guys in AAA hitting well. At the very least it should be a crime that Renteria is still wasting ABs with Cozart available. This team will be a seller at the deadline.

The entire organization is dickless.

I'm thinking 6-3 Cards. Volquez goes 5 or 6, 4 runs.

I think maybe one.

Marty B has said it for a number of years............he always mentioned how when the reds have a nearly full stadium they usually fall on their faces. It isnt just the last two years, but for quite a long time when that stadium is full they stink.

SO.....this is not a big game type of team

I just had breakfast with Walt. It took some convincing as he's still a little iffy....but they are going to call up Cozart tomorrow and send Janish down. He thinks it is best for now that Cozart get over half the starts if he struggles a little and if he does well then he'll get the vast majority. He did say Renteria will not be going anywhere unless someone gives them way too much for him. Orange juice gives Walt some pretty severe gas.
