I have both but spend a lot more time on twitter these days. Facebook gets on my nerves.

I have turned over a new leaf....no more drunk posting!

I still miss the days of where you had to have a .edu email to be on it. It was nice to keep all of the trash relegated to myspace, lol

Yeah. It was nice when the college and high school was all in one. I'm ok with it now, as I have friends with younger siblings and what not.

I held out for a long time until upper90 convinced me otherwise. Even if you don't post, it is a great tool for sports. It seems like you can get your news and rumors in the sportsworld much quicker this way than you can via espn or other media outlets. Also, twitter is where all the Bin Laden stuff got leaked way before it was officially announced.

I couldnt agree with this more. I thought it was all so dumb until my GF talked me into it and I signed up. I follow entirely too many people(560 some and only a few of them are FBook friends...hate seeing repetitive stuff) and don't tweet too much. It is the greatest source of news.

I know of two sites who stream tweets for a specific audience(that interests me anyways, I am sure there a more).

http://www.witstream.com/#livefeed Tweets from comedians...
http://hoopshype.com/twitter/media.html Tweets from the members of the NBA Media(some cover other sports too).
http://hoopshype.com/twitter/players.html Tweets from NBA players. Past and present.

Facebook is for connecting and interacting with friends.

Twitter is for passively receiving brief tidbits of information about topics or people you're interested in.

Decide what purpose you want to use social media for, then choose the one that best suits that purpose. I use both because they serve completely different purposes.

News outlets, Weather, Tech, etc..

Basically just about any topic you can think of, there is something on twitter for it.

I follow multiple news outlets, regionally, nationally, and worldwide. Great way to get updated on EVERYTHING going on. As others said, Twitter leaked Bin Ladens death way before it was officially announced.

Weather Channel is also a good follow if you're interested in local weather, as well as severe weather happening around the country.

I follow a lot of Tech people as well.

There's also a lot of hilarious people to follow, including some parody accounts and joke accounts.

Don't follow any comedians. I am yet to find a comedian I like that is funny on Twitter. The funniest follows are fake people, like the ones mentioned above.

Facebook is an absolute joke. It's the equivalent of being on mySpace these days.

Twitter is a grown man's social network.

So, Belly, go with Facebook.

I was being a smartass, though I like what they're doing. I got an invite for it last night.

I still don't think it'll catch on.

Having every conceivable interest of yours condensed into a single, real-time, easy to use stream? Yea, that's not bad ass at all.
