I forgot to post it earlier....but that was an excellent sliding catch by Bruce....it's tough sliding on those crushed up tires.

New Richmond's new softball field is field turf on the whole infield....even where the dirt cutouts would be they have dirt colored field turf....sliding into the bases is a nightmare.

Upton thought strike 3 was a 3rd slider, when it was actually the 2nd fastball!

Must not be tires in the infield as it looks light colored when a hard grounder takes a hop.

Don't know....fielding on it is different for sure....especially if it's a little wet....shin burgers all day!

Outs at 3rd pretty much always excite me.

I have no problem with that play by Stubbs.

This fuld kid makes some ridiculous catches.

That play right there is why the Willie Mays play is so overrated.

I agree with cowboy, I love that play by Stubbs force the first baseman and shortstop to make a play. That's good aggressive baserunning

Also, what a catch by the rays LF.

I have argued this with my friends before. It seems every few weeks there is a catch similar to this and the Mays play. But people act like the Mays play is the greatest catch ever made.

Running from first on the pitch and tried to take 3rd on the throw to first on an infield grounder to 3B.

I cannot prove.....but there is no doubt in my mind that Mays made many more difficult plays. Now the Fuld catch had less time and he only had 16 strides but the wall was way more into play.....Mays catch was 21 strides with no wall fear....I've seen Jerry Hairston Jr take 23 strides to LCF from CF and have to deal with the wall.

Really? I love sliding on field turf a LOT more than on grass. This is strictly football and soccer playing, but it is a lot softer than real ground, no matter how well kept the ground is.

For the level of play at the time it probably was up to that time in the 50's.

Played on the turf baseball field at VA stadium in Chillicothe. Loved sliding on the turf. Much better then sliding on some of the dirt at a lot of fields.

No way...the timing was huge but any catch at near full speed that includes the wall is better....those plays happened.

And it being in the World Series probably has something to do with it.

Remember guys....often ( no clue why) the softball teams are wearing shorts. The one time this season I did slide on the stuff (shorts and tshirt coaching OF)....it was quite the rug burn feel.

Bruce was running full speed and really didn't slide very far.

Devon White has the best OF World Series catch.....never see it.
