Grady should have made that play. You get glove on the ball, you better make the catch. It's not like it just grazed the top of his mitt, it hit the heel.

Look, he should have made the play, because he normally makes GREAT catches. But that's a great catch if he makes it. There was nothing easy about it. And just because the ball hits your glove, doesn't make it an error. There would be errors occurring at a high rate if that were true.

I agree with that. But I think it takes a different turn when it isnt a dive and it hits the heel of the glove (ie, he was there in enough time to be TOO far).

Just because it wasn't an error doesn't mean he shouldn't have caught it.
He should have caught it, point blank. He has the speed/talent to get to that ball.

Grady hasn't been up to par with his defense lately....or his offense for that matter. It just might be two knee injuries having an effect.

Alright fair enough. Imo, he should have caught it. He has the talent and was there. As noted it hit his glove. I understand it was a tough play but it hit his glove, he is supposedly a professional CF in the MLB. I would expect him/most CFs to make that play. Should be scored as an error IMO.
