Outside of Carl Crawford and Brett Gardner....not too many LF get good jumps, cover much ground or go back on line drives well.

He gets to those balls now, check out his UZR. -17 last year, near 2 this year. Getting into shape and losing weight hasn't helped his stroke but it's helped his defense. UZR isn't perfect but just watching all the games this year you can see a drastic improvement.

In all fairness, he has had far fewer chances to screw up due to his offensive ineptitudeHe gets to those balls now, check out his UZR. -17 last year, near 2 this year. Far fewer yes...but still enough for someone yo realize his defense has improved dramatically and has become an above average fielder
