And what the hell are you talking about with left foot is on the other leg or whatever I read?
You could argue no possession with the right hand while the left foot is down. Either way, they still lost, so who gives a shit.

We'll agree to disagree.

Good game.

Happy with the outcome.

Yeah, I still think they are by far the best team in the AFC North...but losses like this make you scratch your head.

I know Flaccos receivers have a history of not helping him, dropping balls and what not. However, you really have to wonder about his ability to lead Baltimore anywhere. He just doesn't seem to have IT.

I didn't get to see much of the game tonight, so idk if you can pin it all on Flacco or if it was a combo of good D, poor WR play, and Flaccos ineptitude but I wonder if the Ravens are going to start thinking about the future of the QB position and whether or not Flacco is a part of it.

It's hard to think there is much hope for them when their biggest rival and top competition, Pissburgh, is basically a mirror image of them but with a much, much, much better QB.

Maybe trade for Tebow.

Go back and watch the other angle though, the one where he is facing the camera. It hits his right hand, and then once he gets the left hand on it (as in above photo) the ball doesnt move till he hits ground. I mean he brings it in to secure it, but it isnt moving in his hands.

It was a catch based on feet and possession until the ground forced the ball to move around. That part is arguable, the rest is pretty clear with replays and stills.

Problem with Baltimore is they lose games like this every year and then they have to take a long road to the Super Bowl.

They've been good on the road in the playoffs but it's tough to win three in a row to get there.

This should be their year to win the division and be one of the top two seeds and suddenly with this loss it opens the door for Pittsburgh again.

Another huge game when they meet in a couple weeks.

You know better than any that for years Ive been saying Flacco is the reason I dont buy the Ravens as SB contenders. He has proven over and over again to not be the guy.

That said, he has been better in previous years, possibly good enough in other years with this season defense. But he really seems to be regressing this season.

So that's why I was unable to read your jibberish last week? I hire people to type my posts so they make sense. They are off until Sunday.

Id expect that game to be a bit closer than the last. Pittsburgh at home will have a slight edge imo, though that doesnt seem to matter much when they meet up.

Said the same thing to a co-worker tonight, Flacco would be the main reason why the Ravens don't win a SB.

It was a combination of things. I wouldn't pin it all on Flacco. The D played pretty good as usual. The offense was just bad. Nothing really went well for them. The Jags D really showed up.

obviously Indy isn't going anywhere but I still like to go back to this

the last several years, the AFC championship

2003 - New England
2004 - New England
2005 - Pittsburgh
2006 - Indianapolis
2007 - New England
2008 - Pittsburgh
2009 - Indianapolis
2010 - Pittsburgh

Is Rivers, Flacco or Sanchez or somebody else ready to take their team through the playoffs all the way?

Or will it be Brady or Roethlisberger again.

I definitely think Baltimore is a better team than the Steelers this year.

But the Steelers are a resilient team and you have to put them away. Baltimore can't be satisfied with that opening game win now. The big stuff is coming up with this upcoming game and the rest of the season.

I will be traveling to Pittsburgh for the game next weekend. I won't be going to the stadium but it shall be interesting none the less.

Oh and I don't feel dumb for making the avatar bet. Who would have thought Jacksonville's D would have came up that big tonight?

I don't think Flacco is an elite QB, but I think he'd definitely developed into a top 10-12 QB in the league heading into this year.

Not sure what his deal has been this season though.

Harsh, but funny Dave RT @ Dameshek: RT @ sportspickle: Credit where it's due: Flacco remains incredibly calm in the face of being terrible.

So Jacksonville's D is better than I figured but oh well. I'm ok with Flacco. I know he isn't elite but I still think he has potential. Last night wasn't all his fault. I could understand if he was throwing Bauseman like passes 20 yards out of the receiver's reach or something like that but he wasn't. It was just a bad all around night for the offense and once one thing goes wrong everything else seems to follow. I expect a much better performance this weekend.

Anyways deydurkie throw me your choice of avatar.

Vikings (finally) cut Bernard Berrian: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/10/25/vikings-get-rid-of-bernard-berrian/

Not that it matters much, but it might be a shrewd move to pick up Michael Jenkins in fantasy if you have no WR depth. Basically leaves the Vikes with Harvin and Jenkins as the only threats to catch balls from the WR position.

I did so. Also seems like Ponder will be going downfield a lot more than McNabb, which bodes well for both Jenkins and Harvin.

If I was a team with a good QB, but lacking a bit in receiving threats, I'd take a flier on him. His numbers went down some in 2009, but plummeted last year (Favre turning ancient overnight) and this year (pure shit at QB).
