Just because former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor left Columbus after the NFL Draft had already taken place, that doesn't mean he was going to escape the evaluating eye of ESPN analyst and former head coach Jon Gruden. Much like Gruden did with quarterbacks Cam Newton, Andy Dalton, Blaine Gabbert and Christian Ponder, Gruden sat down with Pryor for a film session that is set to debut on ESPN as an hour-long special on June 30th.

Of course, given it's Terrelle Pryor, his abilities as a quarterback weren't the only thing the two discussed. In an excerpt below, Gruden asks Pryor about what happened at Ohio State that caused him to have to leave.

Well it was awful nice of Terrelle to relieve the pressure on his school. Honestly, it's hard for me to get on Pryor's case too much for the things he (allegedly) did while at Ohio State, because I can't say with certainty I wouldn't have done the same things if it were me in his position. That being said, his apology here with Gruden, and the one with new agent Drew Rosenhaus, don't exactly give me the impression that he actually regrets anything.

Odds are Ohio State will regret Terrelle Pryor in the future.

I think ESPN dropped it because as part of the Gruden special they wanted Pryor to talk about the investigation(more than what was in the clip) and Rosenhaus said no.

Anyone who's ever actually been grilled by someone in their life probably is wishing it had been Gruden doing it after watching that.

"So, you're super awesome and everything and I love ya about to stalker levels, but...you know...the troubles at your school... Uh...what happened there?"

Has Gruden ever really "grilled" anyone in his segment? To what I can remember he basically knob slobbed every QB that has been on there over the past 2 years, even Clausen, lol

Nah not really he's pretty easy on those guys when he interviews them. He could have really taken Cam Newton to task when he didn't know a play from a month and a half prior. But he didn't.

When he does criticize them, it's done in an almost jovial way.

He broke a rule and he has to be accountable for that. But in my opinion, it's a stupid rule to begin with. Selling his own items? It's not like he was living in a free house and I believe no proof has come out about the cars situation. He has repeatedly apologized for what he has done. He did it after the Sugar Bowl and even as recently as this month. There have been players in the past in pryor's shoes who threw their schools under the bus. Pryor hasn't done that. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, he originally took the fall for the whole allegations when it was Coach Tressel who tried to cover it up. How many players would have did that? He could have entered the draft, especially with all the chaos that was going on. But he came back just like he told Tressel he would. To make a long story short, if this was a player who wouldn't acknowledge a wrong, blames everyone in his program, etc, then I can see where all the hate is coming from. But in my opinion, he has handle this better than most and it's time (for me at least) to move on. Now let the attack on me begin lol.

I never liked Pryor but I actually thought that was a good apology. Guys have committed far worse and given no apology at all.

Same here. The only thing I noticed was he said "I regret that this all had to happen" instead of "I regret what I did." But other than that, I think it was genuine and about all we can expect him to say. I'll be rooting for him at the next level.

On the scout board someone has seen the whole thing and says TP comes across pretty good. There is no way he could be worse than Cam Newton.

I think TP sounds very knowledgable. He's already way better then newton was, because he can name plays they ran. Newton couldn't because he said they came from the sideline.

Gruden talks to these guys like they are 12, cracks me up.
