That didn't surprise me at all. That 9th grade Steed kid was a Jr High State runner up. He has tailed along with the twins for 4 years and came to every camp I ever had. He was our camera boy and assistant every where we went. His Dad has worked for me for 22 years. Its great to see little Nick Steed stepping it up in HS. Plus Grier just got done with football, I told Steed it was a good time to catch him, Grier will be fine once he gets his wrestling legs under him.

Match of the week Doylestown Vs Waynedale saturday. The Hall girls vs the Nelson boys at 120 and 138. My boys like these two girls way to much to wrestle them! Zack was just holding hands with her by the fire pit here at the house a couple weeks ago. Very awkward. Seriously, I really love these two girls, watched and cheered them on at Fargo this summer, super nice wrestling family. I think Zack might bump up, he is scared of the butterflies in his stomach, Shelby has his number! Zane still hasn't got over the head lock he was in in 5th grade by Hanna! Still having nightmares about that! Awesome girls! Good luck!

Is there going to be any chatter about WCAL wrestling? Maybe some of the posters have been fired, like some coaches in these parts.

Well Waynedale 63-18 over Doyalstown. No real drama in this one.

Thanks for updates. Here in Smithville we pretty much have a full squad at least. Four varsity kids did not wrestle Wednesday night, 3 skin stuff and 1 injury, 220 and heavy both had skin issues but jv's filled in and both got 2 pins each. Nice having a few backups for a change.

Can't believe Matson Lance is not wrestling.

Thanks Beast. Obviously the Bears are the ones to beat. Smithville does not have the same mentality overall yet as some of the proven teams of the county, but Unkefer is the guy to get it turned around if he can get the kids to buy into it.

I tell ya, their is alot of talent in the WCAL, Northwestern is solid, Norwayne is solid, Hillsdale with some contenders, Smithvilles uppers are tough, Chipps with some competitors....may be the most balanced WCAL I have seen.

This is exactly what Unkefer and a few of us were talking about, Unkefer says most balanced in a long time or ever.

I know Triway will not be at Nortwestern sectional this year because of their division change, any others? Will there be any added?

With Manchester and Triway out that waters it down a little. With 9 Wayne county teams, pretty much a county sectional!

Likewise congrats to Brendan! I'm with ya Beast on the lack of chatter on here, I looked up last year and there are many posters that haven't showed up at all this year, or at least since season started.

Agree. Somethings didn't work out or turn out the way some of those posters had hoped and stated...LOL! Embarrassment maybe? For sure with a few. Awesome Job Brendan Stanley, I started a thread for him on another forum! Great article in Wooster Paper about the Stanley family, more than well deserved!
