In "50 First Dates" with Adam Sandler, the mental institution is funded by 'T.B. Callahan' out of Sandusky, OH. Great reference to "Tommy Boy".

The future movie "Unstoppable" has parts filmed in Bellaire and Martins Ferry.

Don't forget that parts of "Gung Ho" were filmed in Shadyside.

I think "The Mothman" had parts filmed in Ohio also. For some reason I'm think The Stone Bridge in Bellaire was in it. (?)

Glee is supposed to be in Lima. They must not know anything about the real Lima.

Some show my wife watches with these two crime/evil fighting brothers. She called me in to tell me that the show was supposedly taking place in Toledo, even though they did not even make an attempt to make it look remotely accurate.

The movie Mischief (1985) was filmed in Nelsonville. I had a friend in high school that had a car that was shown several times in it.

Anyone ever notice in "Tommy Boy" there is a scene in the "Sandusky" airport. Pretty sure Sandusky does not have an airport, or at least on with a full size terminal. The movie made it look like a major airport. Maybe they should have went with a bus station instead.

I thought "Christmas Story" was considered to be set in Cleveland too, not just taped there...

Yesterday my fiancé and I were listening to The Low Anthem in the car, and he pointed out that there are a lot of great songs about Ohio. I’d never thought about it before, but some of my favorite songs are about the Buckeye State. Incidentally, some of my favorite songs are incredibly depressing. Enjoy!

1. Sun Kil Moon “Carry Me, Ohio”

“Sorry that/ I could never love you back/ I could never care enough/ In these last days.” Does it get any sadder than that?

2. The Monroe Brothers “On The Banks Of The Ohio”

Oh wait, yes, it does get sadder.

3. CSN&Y “Ohio”

And sadder.

4. Gillian Welch “Look at Miss Ohio”

Oh me oh my oh, I’ll never stop loving this song.

5. Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy “Ohio River Boat Song”

Bonny Billy’s twangy country is a wonderful thing.

6. The Low Anthem “To Ohio”

This band is a new Paste favorite, and this song is simply lovely.

7. Over The Rhine “Ohio”

We'll end on a nostalgic note—the title track from OTR’s masterpiece.

Ok, and it was Hammond Indiana it was set in. The house was in Cleveland but the a lot of the outdoor scenes were in Ontario.
