I would love to play a few rounds, but it doesn't look like it's in the cards this trip. Actually Father's Day last year was when my bro and I got my dad hooked on golf. He bitched for 2 days prior and all the way to the course about how he couldn't imagine enjoying golf, now he would play 7 days a week if he had the time.

That's very odd to me. It's is not a present that makes a day special or worthwhile.

I'll use Belly's words. Love and Honor. Is love and honor shown by gifts??

Yes, love and appreciation can be shown by gifts, if someone so chooses.

I might get a phone call or two. But would rather have some love and respect.

I work for Irwin Tools and we did a grab bag for $50 you get a product from each of our product lines. It has a retail value of like $225 so I got my Step Dad and Dad one of those.

He said "the wife", so I doubt a BJ will be in the picture ever again.

If you are one of those, you might want to go fishing that day. But it matters to what activity you want to do together. Too bad there is no f1 race that weekend. I would have paid to go on a race weekend with him as I think that is where we usually get are topics for discussion. You might want to get them a gadget if they are one of those techy dads.

I lost my dad two years ago. The good news is that we got to spend a lot of time together before he died. The bad news is that he is gone and I really miss him.

Haven't spoken to my father in 16 years. I just call my mom and wish her a happy fathers day.

I pay my dad a visit and take him a Lowe's gift card. Which is about the only thing he really needs/enjoys. He calls me throughout the year to give me an update on what he has purchased with the card. I do enjoy those calls, because I know someday I won't be able to hear his voice.

My Dad passed away in 2002... miss him every day.

I know life can deal some bad breaks, but I hope those who do not have relationships with their fathers can one day patch things up before they are gone. My wife has not spoken to her father for many years... so sad. But, I do not judge, I only hope they work out their differences before he is gone for good. I know many fathers have made bad, bad decisions that hurt people, but it is still "Dad."

I am gonna enjoy part of the day away from work with my wife and daughter.

Nah. Anyone can be a father. It takes someone special to be a dad.
