I mean if the story about giving money isn't true (which I believe it probably is true, just not to the tune of $40k) maybe the guy had an unhealthy obsession with TP which is why he was asked to distance himself from the program. Just tossing it out there. I think he still paid him though.

Well, he has come out and denied that he ever gave Pryor any money. One would think he would know about the rumors of Pryor cashing personal checks from him. Would be incredibly dumb to outwardly deny any payments if he was indeed writing personal checks. That information would surely come out through an NCAA investigation.

Does the NCAA still have permission to obtain those records since Pryor left school? I would imagine they would need some type of warrant. And Pryor certainly won't talk to the NCAA.

I imagine the NCAA or compliance cannot get any records starting with the day he was no longer a student. But you'd think compliance would have some sort of records while he was a student there.

We don't know exactly what hte agreement says. Most likely they would have to open a civil lawsuit and subpeona records to get them now from when he was there. If they have them on file I'd assume they can use them, but we don't know if the agreement says that they can keep records or not.

Right, I don't know either. Just taking a guess. You would think the compliance dept. would be able to keep records just for these kinds of things. Say 2 years after an athlete leaves school, the NCAA comes and says a booster was writing checks to the athlete while he was in school. I would sure want records available to prove otherwise.

But at the same time how many of these scandels come out because of the person paying the player being indicted on other charges and having their bank records pulled and checks to players are found? I kind of get the feeling that most schools don't pay close attention until something happens.

I wonder how they are sure they have all the bank records. Are they pulling a credit report and then gaining access to all those accounts? Or are they just accessing the ones the players tell them about.

Credit report wouldn't be beneficial in obtaining records of assets. It's only going to report debts.

And who is to say these players are telling the school about all of their accounts? Give compliance one checking account and be done with it.

Thats part of an application. And it's just a credit report and criminal record. Doesn't collect information on assets. I just feel like assets should be much more private and confidential than liabilities.

An Article in the Mansfield NJ says Talbot graduated from Colonel Crawford High School. They interviewed some high school classmates, one a friend for many years who said he had to finally walk away from the friendship. An area athlete who graduated from high school the same year as Talbot, said in the 1990s he approached him and some other small college football players, saying he would arrange Pro tryouts for them.

Talbot has owned staffing and recruiting businesses in the past decade. The IRS filed a lien on Talbot in 2009 for $278,875 for unpaid federal taxes. in 2010 Ohio filed a lien on Talbot for $74,227 for back taxes owed the State. Liens by several companies are also on the books against Talbot.

According to public websites Talbot claims to have graduated from Kent State University, but the Kent State registrar's offices said Talbot attend school there for only two semesters.

Kind of like some of the 40-somethings on that other site to whom high school sports are the single most important thing in their lives.

Personally, I've never understood the concept that because I a fan of a team, I want to hang out with the players.
