It seems that you've been raised to believe that there is a certain manner for doing everything in life and people who don't do things that way have somehow, what is it you say, "lolfailed". If you are happy with you, that's cool. But judging from the way you are always so over-the-top critical of every thing that doesn't fit into your perception of how the world should work, I'd say you never truly learned to think on your own or be your own person and you aren't necessarily happy about it. There are some people who just live and enjoy and don't accept that "the way it is" is always "the way it should be". It isn't some kind of pseudo-rebellion, it is simply having the freedom to do what you want without stopping to think about who won't agree with it.

To answer your questions, I've only known of one person who insisted the name was misspelled - on a pumpkin we had carved. You would've loved her. Otherwise, I would imagine there has been an idiot here and there who thought that making fun of her name would somehow be insulting and cause her emotional trauma. I don't know of it happening, but I know that's how some people are. The name has never been an issue other than having to correct a spelling here and there.

It's not just what I think, its also what others/the entire world percieves. You going to name your child Adolph Hitler? Yeah didn't so Mr. Open Minded. I'm just telling you, that name will hurt your daughters chances, or ppl will at the very least judge her based solely on her name. There are plently of other ways to giver her a unigue name that doesn't sterotype her.

Why is everyone naming their kids unnecessarily weird names? Its not unique, its retarded. I see this trend more and more with girls my age (early to mid 20's). Its more like with names like Aidan, Cayden, Brayden, Talon...stupid shit like that. Also just spelling normal names different, I mean is there really a point?

I work at a Dr's office and just this week we've had a girl in named Marvelous, one named Charmin, a boy named Nefiano and Aquavion. And best of all, a white girl with the name Lakeyisha. smh

I guess to each their own

Also, are you a big fan of Mozart? I'm surprised your wife was so cool about these names, seems names like Edcyl would be a hard sell.

Also, i think Wolfgang is a badass name, don't know if i'd name my son that though. Personally, i'm a fan of one syllable names and names that aren't unisex, even though mine happens to be.

For what it's worth, my wife's middle name is "Leyshon." It's pronounced "lie-shun" though, and the only reason for it is that it's a family name dating way back into their heritage.

I don't like the name Adolph - has nothing to do with being open or narrow minded. Chances at what? Who are these people who make important decisions in the world who judge others based solely on names? An employer? You really believe that?

I know a Wolfgang that used to be a huge bigwig with Rubbermaid (Wolfgang Schmidt). He just goes by Wolf, as most Wolfgangs I know seem to (believe it or not, I know three of them).

Wolf ... tell me that's not the most badass name in elementary school.

Listen to Mozart, not a huge fan and wasn't the reason I picked the name (though I'm sure that's where I first heard the name). Yeah, it was a tough sell to the wife but she knew it before we decided to have a child. I decided on Edcyl the day my grandfather died almost a decade before my son was born. Our deal was I would name a boy, she would name a girl.

While we're on the topic on baby names, I'll throw this story out. My now-ex wife and I had decided if we had a second girl (back when days were good), her name would be "Loxli". We divorced and she re-married first and got pregnant a short time later. My daughter told me one day that they were going to name the baby Loxli. So I promptly went and bought a dog and named it Loxli. She decided against that name for her daughter and was kind of shitty about it.

lol, I know a guy at work who dated a girl that was the same name as his dog. I always thought that was hilarious.

My dog's name was Brutus. The vet spelled it Brutis. I had to correct it a half-dozen visits on the paper and finally told them they need to correct it or I'll pay them 3.00 not 30.00
Greedy bastards spelled it Brutus after that.

This shit is cracking me up because my girlfriend's nieces, all in their early 20's, have a Brayden and a Cayden.

Two of the guys that were in my wedding have kids. The oldest son of one is named Haiden. The oldest son of the other is named Ayden.

Haiden now has a little brother Elijah. Not bad.

Ayden now has a little sister Jaleya and a little brother Bransyn. They like Ys apparently.
